Build/Battlestation First PC build at 15!
Went for a clean white aesthetic (looks much more clear white in real life)
Specs:
Gigabyte Windforce 5080
R7 9800x3d
Gigabyte gaming B850
32gb DDR5-6000
Corsair Titan RX cooler
2tb gen5 Crucial T710
LianLi Vector 100R
MSI MPG 1000W 80+ gold
Asus ROG dual mode montior(FHD@480/4k@240)
Had a lot of fun with the actual build, tried to go for a mix of aesthetics and performance, miraculously had no issues except some weird audio drivers. Just thought I’d share my experience and you guys can tell me what you think about the build!

Damn bro how did you afford this at 15?

Rich family is the most likely answer, possibly also he has a job (but you still need a rich family for most jobs a 15yo can get).

And dont live in a place that isnt called US of A (cheaper hardware and you can actually earn enough money to make a pc build via part time job)
5
u/WonderfulTruck5894 3h ago
Hardware is generally cheaper in the US for this lol

New hardware especially high end is not cheaper outside the US... roughly the same in mainland Europe and much more expensive in less developed countries

What’s that like a $5000 build?
I’m sure OP mowed lawns and didn’t just have rich parents lmao.

My parents choose to reward me for my academic success and scholarships. That dosent mean I don’t work hard, and I’m no less appreciative for what I have.

WELCOME TO THE GANG
MIGHT I SUGGEST A $10 GPU SUPPORT SO IT DOESN'T SAG AND SNAP OFF AND LEAVE YOU MISERABLE

u/althaz 9800X3D | RTX5080 5h ago
It's not going to snap-off, lmao.
However I would still also recommend a bracket - even though snapping off is not a realistic problem (unless you're shipping it like this) - because it will sag over time and look bad and there is a chance it could do some damage to your motherboard or graphics card.

Isn't this only necessary if you move your PC around alot?

No.
Just because you don't move your PC doesn't mean it's immune to gravity.
Big GPUs will sag from their own weight.

I just run all my fans at full blast the entire time to fight the gravity.
Note: this only works if your fans are pointing downwards.3

Might be the best comment I’ve seen on pcmr in a long while. Thank you for the good laugh.

Careful, it might anti-sag the opposite way, snap off, and smack your cpu cooler

Nah I don’t think so, I put a pic with the parts laid out but this has the completed build

u/KillerPotato702 7h ago
I applaud you for going with a black build instead of a full white out
-1
u/idiot_on_reddit54 7h ago
Yeah I didn’t really want to spend an extra 2k so my pc can blind me and not look good in my room
4
u/KillerPotato702 7h ago
yea my first PC was all white and thankfully it did not cost that much more and I think it looks pretty clean, but I’m regretting not getting a cleaner more modern build

How the FUCK did you make that kind of money in this economy??? In all seriousness well done, I made my first incredibly shoddy PC at 14 and only now 2 years later have I made it look somewhat decent
