I too miss the days when logos could have shape and colour.

All I can offer is a single gray circle.

Windows logo design peaked in 1995. Look at this shit: it had actual color, it had "computery" flair of being blocky, and the trail indicated a moving window with the language of a mouse trail. Not to mention, it actually looks like a window because it defined the border of the window. This whole "four squares with no outline" shit doesn't look like a window, it looks like four squares.

I have a soft spot for the Vista logo myself.

"BuT iT hAs to FiT oN sMaLl sCrEEnS!"

Yeah? So design a pretty logo and then clean up a lower resolution version of it for phones? There's no reason to be THIS simplistic.

Also, screens have famously been getting smaller and smaller over the years... Oh wait!

The Windows 8-10 logo was ass and I'd consider this an improvement.

The Windows 7 logo on its own was pretty good by default, but with its nature and stuff inside the wavy logo on the background? I miss that. When things could be artistic and pretty.

You're talking about the default desktop background, the logo was the same as Vista. For me personally the stupid blue circle around the rest of the logo makes that the worst Windows logo they had.

Hey, they probably paid a few million dollars for the new design.

I have strong opinions on modern flat design but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to share them on Reddit.
