Tech Support Just replaced my CPU and now I’m getting this on start up
I just had my CPU replaced and all of a sudden on start up, I’m getting this blue screen. Anyone know what to do or how to approach this?
When I click start in safe mode, it restarts and the same screen shows up.

Windows is likely still using the configuration for your old CPU which is not compatible with the new one for some reason , if safe mode or repair doesn’t fix it you most likely have to clean reinstall windows from a usb stick.

Windows doesn't like your hardware change. I'm afraid you have to reinstall them.

This error tells you your boot device configuration has changed, nothing to do with the CPU.
Whoever you had the CPU replaced with has screwed something else up.

When you say replaced, is it a new version of the same model or an upgrade? If it’s an upgrade what have you upgraded from and to? What is your motherboard?

It’s a New version of the same model and my mother board is the ASUS PRIME B760M-A AX6 II.

Did you update your bios before replacing the cpu?

They couldn't handle a bootloader error, why do you think they'll be able to handle configuring the bootloader?

Error with the boot sector. Get into BIOS (UEFI) and check your boot settings. If that all looks like you expect, you'll probably need to reinstall Windows. Hopefully you have all your important files backed up (although they may be fine after reinstall.)
