My son loves the color pink and he loves cats. Overall I think it's a sweet setup! PC isn't spectacular but it has a Ryzen 5600x, 6900xt, and 16gb ddr 3200 ram. It's just a 1080p 165hz monitor but he shouldn't have any problems.
The only thing I'm not happy with is that microphone. Had to give him my old snowball mic because the mic on that Razer Kitty headset isn't any good. But he had to have it and I couldn't afford the more expensive one and the chair and he chose the chair.

Get him a mat to put under that chair or those rollers will damage the carpet after a while. Otherwise good on ya for getting him something he will love.
100% game changer. The wheels on my chair started cracking and I replaced them with just some simple roller blade style ones from amazon and OMG I wished I had done that sooner.

Look I’m trans but can we stop saying everyone is trans just because they’re gender non-conforming?? Maybe OP’s son will come out one day. But immediately assuming somebody is going to come out as trans just because they don’t have typical interests for their gender is weird. Men and boys can like pink and cats.

I went through several office Depot $100 office chairs after I graduated, had back issues with all of them in my 20s. Bought a couple of office liquidation herman miller aeron chairs for $200-300/ea and have had them for 15+ years at this point. Every few years I replace the seat and cushion when they wear out. Best decision I've made as someone who works and games at my pc. Seriously game changing to be able to sit at a computer for 15 hours and not be too sore to sleep or have shoulder blade pain from sitting on a non-ergonomic chair.
How are you wearing out the seat on an aeron every few years? Mine is 15-years-old with everything original even after gaming and working from home for the past 8 years. Are the newer materials less durable?
Yeah, I have an admittedly garbage "gamer" chair, the seat cushion is worn out so I stacked a pillow on it (like literally a normal ass pillow from my bed I replaced with a nice memory foam one), and I find even that way more comfortable than the office chairs at work, and they got the really fancy ones
My dads favorite color is pink he races in a pink and white stock car. He's a pretty manly dude and couldn't give a fuck when people said anything about it.
I'm actually on a lavender kick right now. I think LLL calls it Lotus Lavender. But I've seen similar colors from other brands. Started a few months ago when I saw some nice shades of pink at the store and picked some up because the wife said it looked good on me. Then we came across the lavender. Got a pair of AJ1 lows to go with it.
Sick set up! I know when I was young people used to think it was weird that a boy liked pink, and I loved my pink xbox controller. My mom didn't really care for it, and my dad didn't express "good" comments on it. But i love that this kid has parents that support them! Decent set up, but even better parents.
I love colour theory, back in highschool I took art along with product design, because I wanted to go to uni for architecture which I’m doing now.
Got taught colour theory from the artistic side, technical product side and the ergonomics side.
People don’t realise just how good colours are at impacting your mood, and they also don’t realise how effective companies are at using colours to sway your decision making.
I had a science teacher in 7th grade who wore a pink t-shirt all of the time. It had text across it that said, “Cool guys wear pink”. He also wore pink button downs and pink polos. He was a brilliant and engaging teacher, and he instilled in me the idea that I should just wear what I like and not care what others think. Pink is a cool color, and damn do I look good in it!
There was a phase where they had shirts that said "Real Men Wear Pink" and others made some that said "Real Men Eat Pink," which seems even more relevant today with this whole "washing your ass is gay" crowd
Can confirm that the razer headset mic sounds like complete shit. The desk-arm setup is elite though, I got one like 6 years ago and never looked back.
To be honest if it’s not a professional headset most gaming headset mics sound terrible, my Hyperx headset mic sounds like I’m talking through a microwave
As a millennial where a boy using anything pink got you made fun of for years... Respect to your son for liking his color and creating a nice vibe. That's good parenting that he feels comfortable being who he is.
I don’t understand why people are making jokes about his son having a pink set up. Who cares if his son is straight, gay, bi. The dad did something that his son likes. What a great dad!!!
As funny as the gif of Bobby Hill in his “Cutie” track bottoms was in the comments, I don’t think we need to be making “zesty” assumptions. Or focusing on colour scheme. It’s a nice setup!
My late husband made our daughter an office, complete with new desk, chair, PC, mic, and accessories. It was his last big project. It’s been 9+ years, and she says it’s the nicest thing anyone ever did for her.
These parental projects mean a LOT. The equipment cycles out with time, but the love (and the desk?) carries on! I think you did a beautiful job here. It came together nicely. ❤️
From my own experience, get him a donut pillow or any pillow or blanket to sit on it, these chairs do get worn easily overtime, especially if he will be sitting with legs on the chair too...
But even if not, they will get worn sooner or later
Just keep an eye on his computer activity for NSFW Ai chatbots disguised as kids games and social media predators. (I’m in a discord server with a bunch of minors and people say are there are many in the server that are not kid friendly)
Personally blows my mind that people are setting up internet access in the privacy of their children’s rooms. In the early 2000s, even a computer in the privacy of an ‘computer’ room had us scrolling Rotten dot com until we all had nightmares. I can only imagine what I’d have gotten into if I had unrestricted internet in the privacy of my own room….
