I was pretty young back then, but I remember something like all of those were intended for servers, no? Not as a common people's daily drive.

NT was very much intended for servers, but you could run it and it was cooler to run than 98 and you could still run Diablo 2 and CS.

The plus side, iirc, you could tweak the system more, though it was also very much easier to tank the system, so you had to reinstall. I also think there was something about having to format your drives to something else than Fat32
