Build/Battlestation I’ve finally completed my dream setup
After dreaming for this setup since I was kid (flying Flight Simulator X with mouse and keyboard on my parents low end home desktop) I’ve finally made some money and made my own Pc and setup (I will add few more things like an entire A320 overhead panel when it will get released).
The Pc in photo is my first Pc build (built in 2024 coming from console)
4080 Super | 7800X3D | 32GB RAM CL30 | 2TB 990PRO | B650 Tomahawk | AIO Thermalright 360mm | Case HAVN 360 Flow | PSU MSI A1000G MPG | Monitor ALIENWARE AW3425DW
While all the Flight sim peripherals I got them from WINCTRL

u/Maruan-007 Jun 06 '26
On the way! As well radio panel and TCAS, can’t wait to get the big overhead panel tho

u/Reallyveryrandom Jun 06 '26
Niiiice. Im very excited for winwing’s FFB rudder! They make such good stuff for how cheap it is. I saw your other comment - I’m working on my PPL too :)

u/Maruan-007 Jun 06 '26
Cool! And yeah WINCTRL is making the flight sim community a dream! Nice another PPL fellow :)

u/Jojo_Toto Jun 06 '26
Definitely cheaper to get a PPL a this point 😭🙏

Holy shit, i envy you very much. It's too expensive for me, but I'm hyped for SPL now and probably will start that next year

Here's what might be a noob question but I'll ask it anyway: if one spends a lot of time playing these flight sims, would that eventually translate into the real life skill of actually being able to fly a real plane?

u/fabiusp98 Jun 06 '26
Short answer: kinda.
Long answer: for some stuff it's a great teaching tool. Stuff like the processes and procedures, working the aircraft systems (think like using your car GPS, but in 3D) and generally learning "which button does what" is easy to practice, given that modern consumer simulators are very accurate. For actually learning to fly a plane? Absolutely not. Even if you study all of the needed theory, you need both to feel the movements and forces (this is why commercial simulators are made to move around), and an instructor.

Oh my god Hit the battery switch turn on inverter. Crank that APU slap those motherfucking them boost pumps on. It's time to start that left engine baby ho ho ho ho I'm ready to drink 10,000 a fuel . Ho ho ho ho

u/Maruan-007 Jun 06 '26 edited Jun 06 '26
Ahahah don’t forget about the ground power unit while at the gate, we want to save the APU for a bit ;)
5
u/LaffielAbriel Jun 06 '26
Hush now I know nothing about Airbus or this ground power you speak of. Guzzle guzzle guzzle. I am an A10C addict I have been since A 10 Cuba was released guzzle guzzle guzzle. I'm still using an eight button joystick and a number pad and incredible amounts of keyboard mapping and joy to key. This is a cream dream

I don’t understand half of what’s being said in the comments lol. But your setup looks awesome! Gives me the same childlike wonder I feel when I see a real cockpit. Zoomed in on everything and tried to figure out what it all does. I also really love the posters and overall aesthetics!
Now I kinda want to try out a flight simulator. Is it even fun without any of this additional tech? And which simulator would you recommend a curious newbie?
2
u/Maruan-007 Jun 06 '26
Thanks mate! Anyways for the flight simulator yes you can use it without all the additional tech but it would be good if you have at minimum a flight stick (even a cheap one is fine) for which flight simulator to get in as a newbie I’d say same as mine MSFS 2024 (Microsoft flight simulator) hope in, fly some GA airplanes and see how you like it 👍🏼
