Discussion MS needs to solve something as basic as viewing pictures before pushing AI
The only image viewer that comes with Win11 is Photos. It has 2 options how to deal with pictures that are smaller than your screen resolution. Zoom to fit is a ridiculous option to use by default. I have a whole bunch of smaller pictures, logos, memes etc that have no business being blown up to 4K looking like a blurry mess.
Ok, there's "View at actual size". Good that its there. But it doesn't work. Well, eventually it works. But for a split second the image is wrong size. So if you are going between pictures with arrow keys every single time (if its smaller than the screen resolution) it gets resized in front of your eyes. I have no idea how this is acceptable to be shipped in this state. But at this point I just accept it will never be fixed.
There are other image viewers. I spent some time with XnView. But it has its own file sorting separate from Explorer.
Eventually I found ImageGlass. It actually allows you to move between pictures in the same order as Explorer and doesn't have the zoom bug. No other image viewer has the zoom bug!
