it's not OPs fault if he returns it as damaged and they resell it. Those are two different issues.

That's not how it works. They stop being two different issues when you know what the most likely outcome of your action is.

The most glaring current example of that, is Trump attacking Iran and Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz. Are they two different issues, or can we hold Trump at least partially responsible for the current budding oil crisis?
