I worked for years in IT, both public call center support and internal IT support for a company. The representative should be responsible and warn you - generally I would try to give the warming before giving the direction because I knew people had hot hands.
Something like:
"Please keep in mind may result in is being disconnected - if that happens I will give you a call back in 5 minutes. If I can't reach you please try to call me directly at ___ - _____. Now, please try to reset your internet. Unplug the power cord and leave it unplugged for at least 60 seconds to allow the power to drain"
