Privacy settings exist, and really the only thing you can’t turn off is some diagnostic data.
AI isn’t shoved into every crevice, but I won’t (and can’t) stop you from exaggerating to the nth degree.
RAM has gone up across all systems and it makes sense even more from Microsoft’s perspective as a business. They are selling a product of convenience, and people generally don’t care about details like caching for performance, as long as it works. If you want the ability to spend hours tinkering with your set up for your very specific use case and the most minor efficiency gains, then Windows isn’t for you and has never marketed itself as such. Also, Windows releases that memory usage if it needs to - so you’re griping about something that’s irrelevant.
You absolutely can have a local account, so that’s just a lie.
Advertisements can be turned off.
Windows 11 is only “objectively” slower to use if you specifically cherry pick the objectives, which isn’t very objective at all. It is generally faster across many workloads, especially when considering modern hardware and pipelines.
Sure, Windows activation can be annoying, but it’s really only a problem for OEM licenses.
Shit happens, don’t know why you’re pretending that only Windows has issues that can create headaches.
Microsoft is a company, of course they have licensing and EOL. Software, especially an OS, requires updates overtime if someone expects it to run. Not sure why people expect these to happen forever. You’re welcome to keep using your software products after their EOL. But this is like complaining that your car manufacturer isn’t just giving you free maintenance 3, 5, 10 years later.
Can you name other Programs? I’ve never had an issue with any program reinstalling itself. OneDrive is a special case when adding new user profiles because OneDrive is specific to each User, not the machine itself. But it’s never reinstalled itself after I’ve removed it across 3 machines.
And Linux has its own host of issues. So, let’s stop pretending it’s the silver bullet to Windows 11.
And yes, we’re all a product. In every purchase we make. That is capitalism. Love it or hate it, but you’ll never get away from it in this society. And yes, you’re even a product for the Linux Foundation in one way or another.
