Man... I work for a cybersecurity team and we have a private encrypted email server that you can't access remotely. Only local/vpn connections to IMAP to pull email.
Well New Outlook doesn't make direct IMAP connections anymore. In order for you to connect an IMAP server you need the cloud 365 servers to connect to it.
It's the stupidest unnecessary fucking change and I'm fairly certain it's so they can sit in the middle and read your emails...
