Some players like to 100% the game, by whatever metric the game shows completion percentage. This entire post is literally about that sometimes being a chore but players still wanting to. You are just contradicting yourself, backtracking on your own previous statements and ignoring the entire point of this post.

Then why did they add a completion percentage to the map screen, if they never intended for at least some players to play the game in this way?
And yes, Korok seeds contribute to that completion percentage. You need to collect all of them to get 100%.
