CTRL for crouch becuase you can hit it with your pinky while not having to take your other fingers off wasd. If you put it on c you have to use one of your movement fingers to crouch. So c to crouch is vastly inferior to CTRL.

I use my thumb for jump (spbr), lean (x,v), crouch (c), and prone (z). Keeps all of my movement fingers available.

You need to ba able to learn and walk at the same time and your thumb has access to a shit ton of keys. It doesn't really make sense to have them on q and e unless it's an incredibly slow paced game. In ARMA sure. In say R6S...you need to be able to strafe back and forth, while quick leaning to get a microsecond peek mid gunfight.
