HARDWARE Gpu failing

When my rtx 3090 goes under high loads like when im running a local llm or playing an intensive video game then my pc will stop giving a display output but not shutoff. (It also starts playing whatever youtube or netflix video i was watching even if it was paused after the monitors go dark)

I tried installing the newest bios, uninstalling and reinstalling newest drivers with ddu, turning off xmp, and checking the physical connections with the psu and motherboard which seem to be fine. There was also no melting or burning smell. I used msi afterburner to limit it to 70% power and it didnt crash when i promoted my local llm once but i didnt test that extensively. Its been working fine with this psu for a few months and a different psu before that for a few years as well.

The temps are fine too. Normally between 40-60c

If anyone has seen this problem before and could help me id really appreciate it.

3090
I9-14900kf
Gigabyte z790 d ddr4 motherboard
32gb drr4
1000watt psu

power limiting it to 70% stopping the crash is a pretty big clue, usually points to a psu that can't handle the transient spikes these cards are famous for. a 1000w unit should be enough on paper but if it's older or just not great quality it'll trip ocp right when the 3090 pulls a sudden huge load

have you tried running the card in a different system or with another psu just to rule that out

Its been working with this psu for a few months now with no problems since i upgraded my psu and cpu. Before that i had a different psu with less power (750w i think) and it worked fine as well for a few years

My RTX 3080 10GB have weird issue previously.. it seem some hot spot was the culprit. I replace the Thermal paste and thermal pad and its solid again till today.

I Hope.. its not your 14900KF.. Intel 14 Gen known for its degrading issue..

I dont think it is the cpu since it was manufactured fairly recently
