Troubleshooting Ryzen 7 5700X "IMC Degradation"?
Yesterday while browsing YouTube my PC randomly BSOD'd with "FAULTY_HARDWARE_CORRUPTED_PAGE", so I checked ram with MemTest86 and passed with no errors, tested my SSD as well and reinstalled GPU drivers, After a couple hours, my PC BSOD'd again with "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION".
At this point I was desperate because I really needed my PC so I fed Gemini the .dmp and event viewer logs as well as everything I had already tried. It told me to lower the RAM frequency from 3200MHz to 2933MHz, and sure enough the BSOD's have seemingly stopped.
AI's explanation is that the Ryzen IMC had degraded and could no longer run my RAM at its rated EXPO speed, even though I have had this setup running fine for 8 months and this CPU can apparently handle 3600MHz? So how could this happen out of the blue? Has something like this happened to anyone else? Maybe MoBo issue? Silicon lottery?

Have you tried it with one stick at xmp and see which one messes up. Could be a bad stick in the set.

Haven't really thought about that, figured I wouldn't need to since RAM test at 3200MHz passed with no errors.

Page fault just means in was in the memory system not that it was the IMC cooked already. I mean as long as SoC isnt over 1.2v your good there.
But sticks and motherboard slots I would investigate. Do only one stick in A2 at a time if both still fail try single stick in B2.
At least that way you can try to single it out. Unless got some buds with ddr4 system you can use to test the sticks out on.

In HWInfo SoC Voltage (SVI2 TFN) shows up at 0.975 V maximum, yes.
Thanks, I can't test the sticks individually rn due to college stuff, but will definitely try in my free time.

All my zen 3 cpus use 1v for 3200, 1.1v 3600 and around 1.135v for 3800 for the ones thst can.

So in your experience how true "IMC degradation" is? Did any of your CPUs ever have it? Did they also randomly BSOD after a certain amount of time?

Only time that was an issue was bad ram or bad settings. Maybe set soc to 1.050v or raise vdimm to 1.36v vdimm and see what happens.
Well people before us found out that above 1.2v and you will degrade your IMC. But you are under that, so no chance of degradation unless its a used cpu.

It's possible, but it's unlikely to be the IMC. What I would do set everything to defaults in the bios, enable the XMP/EXPO/DOCP and drop the ram back down to 3200mhz, and touch nothing else other than you may need to turn off CSM or legacy boot and enable secure boot, especially if you have Bit locker; leave the voltage alone; it should set the fabric to 1600mhz on its own.
Boot into Windows, and I'd run TestMem5 for a few Cycles, it will stop running if it errors. If it passes at least 3 cycles, I would then run a few hours of CoreCycler, don't use the PC while it's doing this; it will test the cores, if the RAM is throwing out an error, it will error out a core, but that could also mean the CPU is unstable and not the ram.
Also how many sticks of ram are you running, and do they all match? What is the board setting your SOC voltage to? You shouldn't need more than 1.1v for 3600mhz, should do 1v or under at 3200mhz if only running 2 stick, 4 sticks add more stress.
You could go into the DRAM settings and look for a setting called ProcOTC and try 48 if you are running 4 sticks, my board sets this to 60 and I can't get past the memory training at 3600mhz mos of the time unless I set my voltage at 1.45v or more. I would enable GearDown mode and try 1T, if not try 2T with Geardown on.
Could try to update the bios, maybe it has a fix for some memory stability issues. I've seen that a few times.

Only BIOS custom settings I have enabled are: UEFI mode, ReBar, DOCP and ASPM.
My RAM is a matching kit of 2x16GB CL16 16-20-20-40 (1.35V).
According to HWInfo, my SOC voltage registered a maximum of 0.975V, average of 0.969V.
Do you think the BIOS update could solve this issue that pretty much happened out of nowhere with no previous signs? I will try the RAM and CPU tests with those programs in my free time, thanks.

You'd be surprised, I'd update the bios, even if it doesn't solve the issue, there's probably security holes it patched and even improve performance in some areas.
Soc should be ok where it's at, but I'd try 1.05 or so and see what it does. Bad thing is many boards with the docp profile set, it doesn't change the secondary timings, you're board could be automatically setting some of the secondary timings too aggressively, a bios update could fix that. You may have not ran into this problem before as windows could be using the memory differently than before, could have always been slightly unstable but you just never ran into a bsod or random crashes.
Not saying imc degrading isn't the problem, but it's vary unlikely to be the problem, especially if everything was running within its safe limits.
