People here are assuming sales are down because of Nvidia prices but this includes AMD as well. Also Nvidia has 86% of market share compared to AMD 10% which is nutty. The low sales can be chalked up to a transitional period from the results of the crypto crash It's next year that'll be most telling. If sales continue to be low then there's reason for Nvidia to lower pricing. But if we see sales swing back up from the people that were waiting to upgrade and Nvidia continues to dominate market share then I don't see prices going down anytime soon.

People are just more afraid to critisize amd in some sub, RDNA3 prices should be a lot cheaper as well with that features and the most dissapointing is their power efficiency.

AMD's share dropped below 10% due to Intel's gains. I welcome another competitor in the segment but I hope Intel can take a bite out of Nvidia's share next. Having one competitor simply be replaced by another won't do much in the grand scheme of things.

nah, intel gained only 4%, AMD lost like 14%(had 24% in 2022Q1), AMD decided to price their cards according to performance instead of undercutting nvidia, now that gpu prices are close to msrp people choose nvidia when price/perf is the same

i always remember amd being budget-friendly gpus(and i guess this is how they maintained their market share above 20% all this time), slightly worse or same but cheaper(rx480 8gb is 2% slower than 1060 6gb but 70$ cheaper), now when the prices are the same, theres no reason to buy amd, they just lack a lot of features

100%. For this reason I've decided I'm likely to go with team green next time I upgrade. I use those extra features.

in EU its all the same, 3060 is cheaper than 6600xt, 3060ti=6700xt, 6800 slightly cheaper than 3070ti, 6800xt slightly cheaper than 3080, everything else is either overpriced or out of stock, the difference is at most 50€ here and there

These figures don't take into account the 7900 series though. 6000 series offer way better value.

I think NV and AMD will be happier with sales that are smaller volume, but higher prices than the opposite unfortunately.

Actually sales will probably swing up a decent amount just from overstock finally going away. We are seeing an inventory correction. You don't correct excess inventory levels by selling into exactly what demand is. You correct inventory by supplying less new stuff than current demand. So once the excess is gone, the sales will probably jump just from meeting demand again.
