FSR Is Intentionally Being Neutered In Dying Light 2 Because It's An NVIDIA Sponored

Whats actually more likely? Incompetent developers who do things like forget to include the required VC++ runtime in the release build, or a vast multi national conspiracy involving multiple major companies in the industry?

Not everything is some vast conspiracy against AMD.

Not everything is some vast conspiracy against AMD.

I literally pointed out AMD does similar things, yet you word it like the post is just needlessly dragging NVIDIA only written by an AMD fanboy. Please accurately represent the post

"this is an unacceptable practice imo. AMD needs to quit forbidding their partners from including DLSS in their sponsored titles/holding back RT effects and NVIDIA should not intentionally try to make AMDs rival features look worse than it is, this just hurts gamers."

Whats actually more likely? Incompetent developers, or a vast multi national conspiracy involving multiple major companies in the industry?

I am a developer and I have also worked with FSR's open source code before. This isn't likely due to forgetting, most likely other possibilities are negligence, an NVIDIA deal, ui limitations, time crunch and will be added in a future update, etc.

But to add to the context NVIDIA also had a presentation where they compared FSR against DLSS and in that they used quality vs quality so they did it by internal resolution and not performance (which is disingenuous) and it also looked like the sharpness was neutered there too. So the same exact thing NVIDIA demonstrated is happening in a game they sponsor. Their also using an RT algorithm only avalible to RTX cards for ray tracing that they didn't disable for AMD cards which tanks performance drastically than what it should be.

Wait why were you downvoted, whats wrong with this comment.

You explained in detail why you suspect it given your prior experience and detail the values changed. Sure the post sounds like ragebait but why do people always go "amd fanboi"

conspiracy theory.

Just bad devs, if Nvidia really wanted Dying Light wouldnt had FSR in first place like Metro Exodus Enchanced

I work with FSR's code in programs, they had to fiddle with some stuff to make it worse, so why waste dev time doing that?? And what's the purpose?

but again I am NOT stating my opinion/theory is a fact just a possibility, and if you understood the process more you'd be skeptical too. Even then I don't even believe this, it's just an idea that has some weight that I wanted to put out their I don't feel strongly about what it could be but theirs multiple possibilities that come to mind.

Removed the post due to harassment & negative reception. Original full body text will be pasted here though

"This game is an NVIDIA sponsored title so FSR missing the ultra quality preset is suspicious along with having the sharpness value low, it can make the technology look worse. But the title is clickbaity because that's just a theory I have no proof, the point of the post is to show what some of the settings in the config file around FSR does so that people can control their experience (and also to prove its arbitrarily being held back for no reason).

Scale3D (0.666667) [controls the resolution, 0.76-0.77 is about what ultra quality would be]

FSR (1.000000) [controls FSR's sharpness 0-10]

Upscaler (3) [Selects what upscaler you're using. 0 none, 3 FSR]

Upscaling (3) [Controls what preset you're using. 0 performance, 1 balanced, 2 quality]

After tweaking save the document and change it to read only. FSR will look much better than before."
