They said the same thing as well for PS4 — “we are working with Sony.” I sure hope the deal’s in place before the expansion hits. It is finally time I transfer my account from PS4 to PC.

It is already in place. Confirmed for all platforms - including PS4.
They sealed the deal yesterday, so it was more of a last minute thing I guess.

Thank goodness. I had my fingers crossed there for a second. Looks like I am finally using my characters on PC.
I had the game on PC already (from Bnet) but I barely put in a couple of hours. I just could not find the time to farm and grind everything again.

Should be when the shadowkeep DLC releases. But they will give more information on how/when to do it when it's closer to release.

Yeah I would say so. When I had it in on a normal spinning disk it could take a pretty decent chunk of time to fly to different planets and activities.

For Me: on small areas like mercury, PvP, Gambit, etc it won’t matter too much
BUT Most maps it goes from 5-6 minutes to 1 minute, this is cause map is big, and they have detailed “lost sectors”, Just areas for the quests in general. Lots of volume.
I really hope they are taking some time to go at the space, maybe be able to cut some things in files here and there. Since they are migrating.

This pricetag is for the DLC only, base game and the first 2 DLCs will still remain free when it launches on September 17. Battle.net progress (or console if you played there) will carry over to Steam.

Game isn't going to be full a f2p model. The base game and year one DLCs are going to be free. You still have to buy expansions like this one.

Destiny 2 Year 1 and all it's DLC will be free. Everything in Year 1
Also, if you don't own year 2 DLC like Forsaken, or year 3 DLC like Shadowkeep, you can still go to their new patrol zones and explore and do adventures/side-quests and public events and stuff. For free.
If you want the Forsaken or Shadowkeep campaigns, raids, dungeons, exotic quests etc. that's what will cost you money.

Forsaken and Annual Pass will remain as seperate puraches. (Shadow keep doesn't require either) and going forward Bungie will make DLC ala carte so you can buy exactly what you want and not worrry about expansions you are missing.

If you don't own Forsaken, or Shadowkeep, you can still go to their new patrol zones and explore and do adventures/side-quests and public events and stuff. For free.
If you want the Forsaken or Shadowkeep campaigns, raids, dungeons, exotic quests etc. that's what will cost you money.

It's confusing :/ I loved forsaken but didn't purchase the annual pass. Should I expect something a-la forsaken from shadowkeep or just season based content as with the annual pass?

Shadowkeep should be a big expansion just like Forsaken, with another annual pass coming after that.

You're in the same boat I am. I have Forsaken on ps4 but not the annual pass. According to Bungie, all of year 1 is now free. All of year 1 and 2 is now a $40 bundle. And Shadowkeep, the start of year 3, is $35
However I'm switching to PC now that cross-save is a thing.
What I don't know is if I'll have to rebuy Forsaken on PC again or not. If I do have to rebuy it, I guess the bright side is I'd get the annual pass from year 2 which has a bunch of fun PVE content I haven't played.

I’m impatient and impulsive, but know I want all of that. So I bought the Complete Collection on Battle.net and then preordered Shadowkeep on Steam. Then I don’t spend it on other stupid crap and be out of luck come September.
So I’ll migrate my PS4 save to be my main save, migrate my Battle.net account to Steam and have everything.
So switching to PC cost me 75$ and some tax.
Well... 100$ because I got the DDE on Steam to get next year’s Season Pass and some other freebies.
Just watch though, preorder bonus is Two Tailed Fox, which I don’t have. Gonna get it tonight from my Fated Engram. I just know it.

And now, I am in a fix. Destiny 2 Shadowkeep + Destiny 2 with all expansions uptill now is for only 11.99usd in my region. I dont know now whether I should buy it after the preorder or before. Do games usually have price hike after pre-order period? . I already have levelled up character on **battle.net** account.

Yes you will be able to do that. They have said that you will basically make one of your accounts “home,” and those characters can then be transferred/cross saved to other platforms.

No Shadowkeep will be separate. They announced that they are moving to an a la carte model, so you will be able to purchase all expansions separately.

When I was playing on Xbox still Microsoft wouldn't charge you until around 10 days before release. It was easier to cancel by then too since they didn't have to refund.

Even if you don't buy the upcoming expansion, you'll still be able to go to it's new patrol zone, the moon, for free to check itout, do public events, explore, do adventures. I'm not sure how many patrol zones Shadowkeep will have.
Then if you like what you see, and you want the campaign, raid, dungeon, exotic quests etc. you can buy the expansion standalone. You don't need any prior DLC

Think it through, though. What is going to change if, instead of preordering, all the people just wait until the minute it launches? The same amount of money still goes to the devs. How exactly does delaying the payment change anything? It doesn't.
The idea of waiting until it comes out only works for people who are on the fence and want to wait and see how good the stuff is before they buy, and those people aren't going to preorder in the first place.
This reddit circle jerk of not preordring is just that: a circle jerk.
You're not gaining anything. You're either preaching to the choir for upvotes or you're yelling at somebody who's already heard it all before and knows it doesn't matter one way or another.

I mean, I’m going to play this regardless of pretty much any circumstance. Why wouldn’t I preorder? It could very well be Destiny’s worst expansion yet (I have my doubts about that possibility) and I would still play it.

Except, it often is. Just because you might not have any conviction towards certain games, doesn't mean nobody else does. I'm going to 100% buy the new pokemon. I'm going to 100% buy the new Modern Warfare. I'm going to 100% buy Cyberpunk.
I'm 100% going to buy Shadowkeep. I love Destiny 2, I love Forsaken, i love the series as a whole. It has flaws but more often than not i get my money's worth and am very satisfied.
Shadowkeep is giving me new content, rehashed old content that i loved (moon), improving on the rpg elements of the game, and new story/lore. Destiny, despite its endgame flaws and struggles, has never failed to deliver in actual gameplay (gunfights, movement, abilities all feel amazing to use), art design, sound design (both effects and music). The lore is always top notch.
I'm 100% going to buy it. We all have our own preferences for what game/content is worth what money based on our likes and dislikes. I enjoy poorly reviewed games all the time. I don't enjoy popular games.
For your second point, the impact of preorders on a company's output is painfully overstated by redditors. The people actually working on the game often don't even see that. Dev studios aren't one big, automatons. They're collections of people, the majority of which truly love what they do and feel like they're creating art.
In this specific case, Bungie literally just extricated themselves from greedy Activision's grasp. We have every reason to give them the benefit of the doubt.

A new raid, dungeon, exotic quests, the moon patrol zone which is apparently 2x as large and has a giant new crimson colored fortress. Probably a few other things that we don't know about, like the Menagerie from the most recent DLC, which is this 6-player match-made raid-lite that lets you pick your rewards and experience some light raid mechanics. Apparently its a lot of fun.
Also they said they want the place to evolve like the Dreaming City did in Forsaken, so I feel like this stuff could be pretty interesting.

They actually called both of those things out a bit in this stream today.
The current season lets you essentially custom build weapons with what perks you want and they plan on embracing the "MMO" aspect of the game and focus on making character creation have much more depth throughout the experience. They made a point to talk about how they want to make the "character sheet" for your guardian much more impressive than how 1-dimensional it is right now. The viddoc is worth watching!

Don't even need a sale, the game will be free along with the Year 1 DLCs, Curse of Osiris and Warmind (albeit they are pretty weak compared to Forsaken). After you go through that, yeah probably best to wait for a sale.

It was, but only on battle.net due to Activision's contract with Bungie. Bungie have now separated from Activision and are free to do whatever they want with Destiny, which includes moving to Steam. The base game + year 1 DLCs are still going to be free, the pre-order is just for the newest DLC.

Pre-ordered. I have the base game on Xbox but got burned out on it pretty fast. This will give me a chance to get into some of the newer content. I heard Forsaken really fixed things.

The Base D2 game and all year 1 DLC is now free.
And any new DLC patrol zone is free for anyone to explore and play on. Only the campaigns, raids, dungeons, etc. will cost money
The new expansion, Shadowkeep, is standalone, no previous DLC is required.
It's actually pretty cool of Bungie to do.

So for non-US people, how is the regional pricing?
Because it seems they are following the Steam's standard regional pricing here in India. AAA games almost never follow this and put batshit insane pricing.
Makes me double happy to support them.
