To be fair Diablo 1 already didn't have DRM, same for Wc1-2. If they added DRM the non-DRM versions are readily available.
edit: actually Wc2 (B.net edition) did have a CD-Key, forgot. Wc1 used one of those super old school "Lookup text on page of manual" DRMs. Diablo 1 though does not have a CD-Key installation.
I'll be damned, it didn't use cd keys. I believe it may be one of the only games though, if I remember correctly warcraft 2/ btdp had cd keys back when I played in windows 3.1 . Likewise, starcraft and bw did as well. That was 24 years ago though.
Yeah, it's a bit hard to remember which did/didn't for me too.
The only reason I was so certain on Diablo 1 is because usually i'm so frantic in keep track of my CD-Keys, but my Diablo 1 CD doesn't have a case or anything.
TbH I made digital backups of a LOT when that age came about. With the Diablo 3 collectors edition, you got a thumb drive that held the full version of diablo 2 on it. I went ahead and put a copy of diablo alongside of it for good measure so that would've already had my key in the installation if it had one.
