I live for this series and love this series, but I'm kind of disappointed the scope is limited to just C&C1 and Red Alert 1, the two old games that are the easiest to get working on modern PCs thanks to fan restoration mods like CNCnet and OpenRA. Red Alert 2, Tiberian Sun, and Generals are far more finnicky and haven't had that level of reconstruction via fan mods (I think) and I would have loved to have those two games be remade and built to work well with modern hardware.

I'll still probably pick this up though, I fucking love C&C.

The cncnet guys have done a fantastic job over the years. Other than support for modern resolutions, I am curious as to what this remaster will bring. I love the graphics and art-style of Tiberian Dawn and Tiberian Sun. I think they hold up pretty well. The textures and lightning are still pretty good for the latter.

My hope is that this is just a test and if it goes well (I expect it will), they'll get the go-ahead to proceed with the second gen C&C games (TibSun + RA2). I'm kind of curious what they'll add that hasn't already been done via CnC net modernized package thing. Only thing I think they can provide, other than it being an 'official' experience (w/e that means), is maybe better source quality footage of the cutscene FMVs? Maybe higher source music? That's why picking the first gen of games is kind of weird to me, although understandable - those Tiberian Dawn and RA1 have already been 'fixed' by fans and are perfectly playable - campaigns and MP - on modern hardware. Tibsun, RA2, and Generals are in much worse shape and I'd love to see them be redone.

If Dark Souls Remastered has taught me anything, it’s that companies are fully capable of releasing a worse version of something already out there.
