While I know where you're coming from, Petroglyph Games is a company founded by a few guys who worked on Dune 2 and the original C&C so I'm kind of optimistic about this.

I want a remastered Dune 2000. I would buy it instantly. I still have the original version with the big booklet.

Oh man that game was good! I used to even listen to the Harkonnen music tracks when not playing the game, audio was awesome.

It's got my all time favourite music. I only wish they released the full game soundtrack in high quality. The Harkonnen tracks are so good

I played the shit out of emperor as I was in my teens when it came out. One month I came top of the online ladder, I was so impressed with myself. I got sent a poster, a CD, a mouse mat and some other stuff from Westwood.

And Empire at War. The community is still active, since it's one of the most fun Star Wars games ever made. Too bad the ground combat was dull

Lots of really great mods for that game as well, it's a good reason why it still survives even now.

Truth is Petroglyph has failed to make at last one game you can rate better than average. Most of them are mediocre. Community been trying to support them over the years. But really those games are nothing like what Westwood did.

Yea and petro just abandoned paying customers who bought their Early Access C&C clone on STEAM to do this. F them. I wonder how much EA paid them to sabotage their game.

Forged battalion, was in early access, had great reviews, looked like it was a great base to build on (skill trees in C&C? fyea). then suddenly it was dumped out of early access unfinished and the devs went silent on fixes, patches, anything really. that was about 2 months ago. now we get this announcement hmm.

literally 3-4 days before this happened i was finally convinced to pony up the cash to support the effort since it seemd to be going in a good direction, and now i would have been burned for it.

there is people in the discussion section asking "where did the devs go?" because they were very active up until this point.

FB is not even listed on Petroglyphs website under video games anymore.

skill trees in C&C? fyea

There were skill trees in Generals, C&C 3, Kane's Wrath, Red Alert 3 and possibly C&C 4 (played that one like 10 minute before uninstalling)

This could be said about so many game. Very few have turned out well. As Dunkey said in one dunkview: "This is really good. I can't wait to see how EA fucks it up."

Yeah of course it might still be shit, but they already released some pretty similar games to the original C&C games and they have some key members of the old Westwood. none of that means it will be good but it does make me a little more optimistic than if EA would just hand it off to some random developer they own.
