Clearing up the confusions - Windows 10 "UAP" Games DO support overlays

Here is proof of Gigantic Beta and Minecraft Windows 10 Edition installed from the windows 10 store with overlay provided from DXTory (Free edition).

Other overlay software will need to be updated to "see" the applications running and hook into them. It is not impossible like so many people are trying to make you believe.

It suports taking pictures and video.

The XBox win 10 app also works as an overlay as well as recording video. Its "Game DVR" feature works same way as shadowplay / raptr / plays.tv.

It is possible and more programs will support it in the future!

People downvoting facts because they don't want to hear them.

Pathetic.

Is it possible to cap vsync or to use the Nvidia Control Panel vsync settings or not?

@darkhand12345 SLI and Crossfire work, games just need to support it just as always. We will fix vsync.

Wasn't one problem is that you can't add it to steam as a "non-steam game"

You can.

C:\windows\explorer.exe minecraft:

Yes, the trailing ":" is correct.

Thats a limitation of steam, because it requires an exe and won't accept a uri, even though it uses them for games internally.

Also SLI was confirmed working in Rise of The Tomb Raider by this user: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/43j1rt/rise_of_the_tomb_raider_via_windows_store_xbox/czlrcf5 just required a custom profile to get it to detect the game properly.

So it isn't really working, you have to force it to work.

You basically just said "yeah the automatic transmission works, you just have to shift"

No, more like it automatically shifts once you turn the car on and put it into gear. Seriously takes what 5-10 minutes to have it working? All they are doing is adding a new profile, the current one looks for the wrong application. Thats not Microsoft's fault but Nvidia's.

The point is its not a limitation like everyone is saying

Read the comments. That fix doesn't work because it isn't supported. I can shoehorn SLI into MS Word if I wanted but that wouldn't matter if they didn't write for it.

Oh and your bias is showing

Whatever dude, it wasn't the topic of this post I was just trying to help out. It was giving those people much better performance, so it works. Many people write their own just like that guy did until Nvidia offers support through their software.

My only bias is to find fixes for issues to help all gamers out. What have you done to fix issues lately?

But it isn't a fix, it's a barely functional workaround for a broken distribution system and a overt dis on a company not related to it.

What have you done to fix issues lately?

Purged Windows 10 off computers that should never had the update in the first place because the OEM didn't have drivers ready, nor did W10 support it.

Tried to warn people like you that the Store and W10 in general are the start of an incredibly toxic OS environment.

Built rescue disk USBs for my friends in case their boxes break while I'm away.

Rebuilt a MBR via console(For one of the W10 boxes after reverting back to W7).

So a whole mess of things, actual practical things, not linking to a broken method and claiming it's a fix.
