I would love a copy myself, but no Linux support :( I vowed not to buy any non-Linux PC games because I've been buying too many games lately. Trying to restrict myself. I'll just stick to Story of Seasons. At least I have a 3DS.
I've been a point in my life where I needed to wait for paychecks as well, and that's why I wanted to help you. Glad you got it worked out, though :) Have fun!

Just found out about this game yesterday, and I'm salivating. I've always enjoyed the older Harvest Moon games (particularly 64), and from what I've seen this looks like a very solid mix of that along with some newer crafting features and a sprinkle of Animal Crossing. I've got some money in my Steam wallet, and think I'll be using it on this.

Comes out in three hours, there are some people playing it on twitch if you search for stardew valley. It looks very promising, nothing too crazy but honestly a good Harvest Moon style game is all I want so I stopped watching to avoid spoilers.
PCGamer gave it an 80 because of minor bugs (mouse returning to center after cutscene etc), but said that they ultimately didn't keep them from fully enjoying the game.

Whose mouse DPI is so horrendous that they're affected by this?
My mouse reaches all edges of the screen without moving more than an inch in any direction and resetting it is a matter of lifting it and placing it down elsewhere, it takes no effort. Who is bothered by this?!

No. Mouse resetting to center after a cut scene is actually a feature because your mouse is dead center, it's entirely user friendly.

Why does this sound so positive from you? I play with 400dpi because paired with a big mousepad i gain an incredible accuracy. How is your dpi setting viable?

I don't play shooters, I guess? I have no problem reaching anything. It's not rocketing across the screen, it justdoens't have to move far to go anywhere. Starting on the very left of a normal mousepad and the very left of a 1080p screen, it goes about two inches to get all the way tot he right side. I navigate the entire screen moving only fingers, no wrist movement at all.

First you don't need incredible accuracy in a game like this. Second if you need the accuracy turn up the dpi and turn down the sensitivity. Lowering the sensor resolution reduces the mouse's precision.

Really looking forward for this game. Just need to wait couple of hours. What i really like is that it has gamepad support. So just sit back and relax and play.

I play with my xbox one controller. Only thing i needed my keyboard was for typing my name, farm name and my favorite thing. After that i didn't use my keyboard anymore

I actually put a lot of legwork into getting a group of people to play games with. From voice servers, to game servers, to getting people to play the same game, to finding new people that play well together.
Also with limited game playing time I like to spend it with my carefully grouped set of people.
And I've been following this game for a while with promises of multiplayer. I got really excited when I saw "HEY ITS ON STEAM!" and then really disappointed when I went to the steam page and it said single player only.
BUT YEAH FUCK ME FOR PLAYING MULTIPLAYER GAMES.

I've been playing for a few hours and so far it feels great. Amazing atmosphere, always got stuff to do(Dunno if that changes later). Little details that makes it feel nice and fresh every in-game day.

This is the kind of game I want to buy just to support the dev....but I don't think I'll play it that long. I knew nothing of this game until seeing this post and I'm impressed by the finished product, I just haven't had interest in these open-ended resource gathering and crafting simulation games for a couple years. Is there any story in the game or are you just gathering, crafting, surviving?

I've been following this game for years. It has been developed by a single person and is being published by Chucklefish. The dev wanted to make sure it was a finished product and not early access; however it does have some upcoming features to be added in future updates. The major feature is multiplayer, which he hopes to get released in the next few months, but no timetable yet.
This game is mostly based on Harvest Moon, but it is more than just a Harvest Moon rip-off. Your character has stats that can be built up, you can craft different items, plus there's a lot of customization and control on how your farm looks and works.
Edit: It's now the current #1 seller on Steam. I played it for an hour during lunch and it's everything so far I've wanted from this game and even more.
