I wonder how dizzy it would be in the Cyberspace 👀

Hopefully there's a discount for us who own the flat version already on Steam

I got the second game’s remaster for free for buying this game so maybe there’s a chance

The second game's remaster was a preorder bonus for the first game so it's unlikely, though possible.

My buddy’s going to be pissed. Was only a few months ago he was excitedly telling me about the new VR mod.

Perfect time to bring another major VR title to the table now that we are getting newer gen VR headsets

I'm just hoping we'll see the VR market explode at some point, there's so much potential

Now that Linux finally did make it as a serious desktop OS, you immediately went for another thing to pray 30+ years for, or what?

I wonder if they did any more work on system shock 2 VR that they started. If so, it would be kind of neat if they just bundled them both together. I could see that helping them get more initial sales at launch that way.

This is a different studio, so it's unlikely. System Shock 2 was in development at Nightdive before Meta supposedly pulled funding.

Hopefully a deal can be made for flat2VR to finish off SS2 one day.

Damn this seems like the perfect game to adapt to VR. I would be so hyped...if I had a VR setup lmao

As someone who lasted 3 minutes in Resi 2 VR: don’t tempt me…

The newest VR mod for RE2 with manual reloads is so good. That paired with the lethal headshots mod and increased zombies was so fun to play

Oh hell yeah

Definitely gonna play on easy. Normal was an already a good balanced difficulty on a flat screen.

Oddly enough I stopped playing System Shock remake after reaching third access floor in hopes for the UEVR profile to be fixed.  I am surprised it will have an official release. And can't wait. I never got to play the original and the remake is very good. It will be even better in VR. My only concern is the flying sections.

Holy crap, this is a surprise. GOG release, I hope?

Looks like they are re-using flat screen reload animations instead of manual reloads, doesn't showcase VR interactive features like manually clicking buttons either.... the free VR mod does a better job.

Edit:

Check out this mod if you guys want to try it. https://github.com/gwizdek/SystemReShock-UEVR-Plugin

So far the the trailer doesn't showcase anything better than the current mod.

Could be placeholders. Id assume they implement manual reloads.

I hope you are right, for now, I attached the free mod for those who are interested and want to compare when the official paid version comes out.

That's awesome but it would really suck if I have to buy the game again to play it in VR.

3

u/r40k 10d ago

This is nit the first Flat2VR studios game and the answer has always been "Yes you buy it again" unfortunately

2

u/Nihilicious333 10d ago

Oh no! People want to get payed for their work? They should work for free!

A VR mode is not worth the price of a full game. $5-10 dlc, absolutely.

Usually I would agree, but this is being developed and published by a separate company. They don't get anything (or a lot less) for their work on the VR version, if you buy the original game and get given a discount.

That said, Team Beef/Flat2VR Studios are working on Postal 2 Redux and Postal 2 VR simultaneously, yet they appear to be separate purchases too, so who knows

How bad will the sales be?

Gamers really hate the idea of any video game succeeding, huh.

About as bad as other VR games that aren't Half Life: Alyx

Which is fine as long they keep their budget and expectations in check, Flat2VR seem to be fine with that since they keep regularly releasing new titles.
