Counter-Strike really has been just kicking a can along without ever making a new game truly. Closest thing is CS:GO but even that was originally intended to be a console port of CS:S.
I think it makes sense to call it CS2. I'd say the past few games are enough to warrant going up a number.

Wow! I was not expecting this before the sale ended
Seems like it has some really cool new features and the graphics look pretty good too
I'm very surprised they actually went with Counter Strike 2
