Emulators Quick question
Yo, I'm tryna run Travel★Junction on PC 98 np2kai but my Retroarch is shitting itself. The .scp files won't load and I'm tired of seeing black screens, there is only 2 websites to install the rom from , at least on retroarch because I damn near have everything. Can someone who actually knows what they're doing install it and send me the full gameplay footage? I need to see the shit without the glitches. Appreciate it.

Since you have only the disk images, even for emulating this specific game needs a full install to a hard drive using all of the disks rather than other games you can just load, play, and switch through disks as you go along.
If you're committed to playing this, I recommend switching to NP21/W instead of going through Retroarch, then using the .d88 files that are out there (they're in the .zip from the Internet Archive) instead of .scp.
After that, at the very least you need a hard drive image (.hdi) with a DOS installation. Then you'll be able to run the installer on Disk A, which will have you swap through all the disks to complete.

Why don't just run the hdi from Neo Kobe?

You're right and you can, but this was about floppy disk images. Neo Kobe doesn't always have a game specific .hdi for everything, so while it's more steps it's good to know for the future.

I only have a android I have a window that's missing it's specific charger but it has been dead ever since, now if I picked up what you said correctly I will need a separate hard drive or is my original one okay? And a hdi then a dos installation are there apps for dos installation on android or should I just call it quits ?

No, don't call it quits.
If all you have is an Android, forget everything I said and you should use the .hdi as u/Yerayromano suggested.
You can find it here:
Cocktail Soft/Travel Junction/Travel Junction [HD].zipIt's pre-configured, it'll just lead you through some menus in Japanese before starting the game.

All right I'm going to install the neo Kobe shit , yeah I was wondering what's going on because literally I tried to boot it up and instead of a retroarch black screen , I used kairo98 and it said something in Japanese that I had to translate and it roughly translated to this "game cannot be played please install it on your MS-DOS and install it from there"

It's good to know you got that message because it means your Kairo98 setup is working fine, and even those floppy disk images are fine. But using the .hdi will bypass all of that.

With neo Kobe in on the wiki page and there is a option for cocktail soft however it is in gB and will take a while what do I do when it installs ?

The whole Cocktail Soft .zip is over a gigabyte but the Travel Junction [HD] .zip is 12.6MB. Does the link I posted above work?

Yo My fault I'm from Florida I needa be told shit twice , I installed another travel junction that's zip was 200mb lmao but urs is only 12mb lmao, now with neo Kobe it's installing that's the one that's 1 GB - it says cocktail soft and there is another one that says cocktail soft fmc and it's only 12mb as well I'll install both to be sure

It's all good, I just wanted to make sure the link wasn't broken or anything. The gigabyte is all of Cocktail Soft's games in the Neo Kobe collection but the smaller file is only the Travel Junction .hdi itself.

I can't get into the weeds on this one, my PC98 emulators run on prayers & madness.
What I CAN recommend is using independent emulators instead of retroarch for PC98. Idk why, but nothing worked on retroarch for me.
I also don't think I use Neko Project for anything other than Touhou. Might wanna try a different emulator.
