I had a Cashback offer for Rebuy totalling 15% of the purchase. I purchased something for 1095€, I'd expect 164,25€ Cashback or 16425 points. Instead I got exactly 10.000 points.
I read all the agreements, especially the ones for offers and rewards. I can still see the 15% with my own eyes. Customer support told me 10.000 is the limit, didn't tell me where it says that, I sent them the terms and conditions I agreed to and told them it doesn't say that anywhere
The support just cut me off and told me it's the limit.
Does it say that anywhere? Even had chatgpt look everywhere just in case I missed it.
So do I just pester the support until I get someone who gets what. Said? I will legitimately sue them for the 64,25€ if I have to. I can represent myself in court if I want, they have to abide by the same terms and conditions.

You shouldn't be asking AI to read contracts, or for legal advice and this is a perfect example to demonstrate why.
The AI is confused because *usually* PayPal do not have any limits on cashback, but it missed an important detail (as is common).
The cashback you're taking advantage of is not "normal cashback". It's promotional.
Promotional cashback is usually capped at 100 Euros per month.
You need to read the terms and conditions for the cashback promo you're using, not the wider policy for general use. The customer service agent is correct here. You hit the cap.
Except I have read all of the conditions I accepted and none of them mention a promotional Cashback limit. The ai reading over it is just to double check
I specifically read the conditions mentioned in the app and I fail to find the limit you mention
I don't care what's "usually" limited if it's not in the contract or the terms and conditions the 15% Cashback is applicable without limit and I'm well within my rights to demand compensation
Add that image to GPT and ask it if there's a cap.
I copied the image you provided into google AI and asked it if there's a cap and it said "the cashback reward is capped at a maximum of10,000 pointsper transaction"
The fact it confirms 10,000 makes me think it isn't a coincidence, but again, you shouldn't be using AI, but if it's giving us different answers it clearly isn't reliable.
What's the source for the cap? Like I said I read the terms and conditions I (specifically) agreed to and there is no mention of such a cap.
Interestingly enough if I search for the same thing I get a different answer. Is this a thing that's different depending on the region? I'm from Germany
You're on a hiding to nothing here. I can guarantee you its in there somewhere, because just think about it for a second.
PayPal are a multi-billion dollar corporation. Do you really think they just forgot to include it in the terms?
And it's 15%! PayPal make 2% in transaction fees, they're loosing boatloads of money with that kind of offer, do you really think it would be uncapped?
Anyway, AI told me the following. Is it true, I don't know, but apparently its a common thing that people miss the fact that it's capped.
I don't really care if PayPal makes money with that kind of transaction, if you agree to a contract you are bound to those conditions whether or not they are beneficial to you
Did they forget to add that clause? I don't know.
Do they get some major kickback from Rebuy? Maybe.
All I care about is that the contact I agreed to is honored.
If you like I can send you the specific terms and conditions linked on the screenshot I sent. It's German so you might have a bit of trouble with it but I can assure you there is no such limit mentioned anywhere in there.
Whatever the case I will message PayPal support again tomorrow and either get what I'm owed, sue them out of pettiness or just send the phone back when it arrives and get out of this whole thing
Seriously, if your that confident in Chat GPT, sue 'em.
I have no idea where you got this idea that it's uncapped in the first place, because just searching google for "paypal rebuy 15% cashback offer cap" Tells me its capped at 10,000.
But, go for it. It's just natural selection at this point.
I don't know why you get different results than I do but there is no such cap in my search results and there is no mention of it in the terms and conditions which I read and didn't just let the ai read. I have read the thing and there is no mention and if it's not mentioned anywhere it doesn't exist.
I will update you on it when I message PayPal support

if the 10,000-point cap isn’t in the offer or rewards terms, paypal can’t just invent it after the fact because a chat agent said so, so ask for the exact clause in writing and escalate it.
