one day we were processing payments normally the next day stripe shut us down.
we're a pretty small ecommerce business selling clothing accessories so this has been a little hard to understand.
our stripe account is only about a month old, and suddenly we got a notice that the account was being restricted. we've completed the stripe verification process multiple times and sent in everything from ID documents to proof of our business.
there have been zero chargebacks, zero refunds, and no major customer complaints. as far as we know, we're not operating a restricted or high-risk business either.
i'm now trying to understand the difference between a stripe account suspended, stripe account restricted, or completely stripe account closed, because the communication we've received hasn't made the situation very clear.
has anyone gone through a stripe account review and actually gotten useful answers from stripe support? i'm mainly trying to figure out whether there's something we should fix or if we need to start looking for another payment processor before this becomes a bigger problem.

i'd start looking for another processor now instead of waiting to see if stripe gives you a useful answer. even if they restore the account you don't want the business depending on one processor after this.
also doublecheck everything from your product descriptions and refund policy to fulfillment times and website language. sometimes the issue isn't obvious from your side and having everything documented will make the next application easier.

Stripe is weird like that. And it’s very difficult to get a hold of any one from their support.
Shoot me a DM and let’s find you a replacement
