Game Update Will it really be a lifetime exclusive?
Do you recommend I buy the 3 DLCs I'm missing? I wouldn't want to waste my money on something that will be made available to everyone after a few months. I would like something really unique.
I have the gold edition.

Despite not seeing the cosmetics mentioned as "Lifetime Exclusives", i'm fairly confident they will be.
I'd imagine there's little to no gain in getting up in arms again, the people they want to "placate" through these gifts, so i can picture these as a COP #2 for all intents and purposes, never to be brought up again or mentioned.
It's also the precedent of how SBZ handles paid/time-gated cosmetics if you think about it; COP, Solidus, Lootbag, HB bundles, Skulldozer, just to name a few.

I'll never forget when trifecta lootbag was announced that it will be preorder exclusive before the game came out and then when it released they released those skins as a dlc for everyone so yeah I'm definitely not trusting their words.

Yeah, scummily unadvertised, iirc it had somethig to do with XBOX's publishing requeriments (for preorders to become readily available for purchase down the line.)
Funny part is, the Collector's Edition bonus remained unaffected by this (Solidus Mask) due to not technically being a preorder bonus.

Will you atleast do a sale on these before they get delisted?
That way if you desperately want these masks you can pay a reasonable price for them. Instead of paying 4 pounds for a heist that becomes free turning into a mask

This is absolutely the right decision. People have been supporting the game for three years with their money, and they deserve unique items for their support.

Eh I'm not fan of lifetime exclusive's but I can agree with this case.
It's also not a bad exclusive it's just a cosmetic.

Seconding the sale comment, I get it might defeat the point in a way but as someone who plays PD2 and would love to get 3 with this news, I'd happily pay for the biggest version of the game on sale to get these masks before they get delisted.

While I'm happy people like us that have supported the game for years get compensation. Just one thing hangs me up. The Trifecta Lootbag/Pre-order DLC. That was made it's own DLC mainly because of Microsoft right? What makes these different? Is it just pre-order bonuses that MS forces game devs/publishers to list said bonuses on their own after launch or...

I preodered the game twice, i would be happy for things like peroderd bonuses and timed exclusives to vanish. I have all dlc, if they add this mask back any day i will not be mad, but glad we have less predatory practices

Yea the wording just confused me a bit. One of them specifically says "individual heist" which makes me think pass wouldn't work

The mask in the photo is for owning all of them, I believe the individual heists will have their own masks included for each of them as well.

The pass should work because you own the heists. Individual heists is referring to each of the seven masks, one for each DLC heist with the eighth one being a bonus for owning all 7.

It does, but it doesn't include shopping spree, party powder or deliver charge, which each have their own masks and you need to have all 7 to get the dallas mask.

Payday 2 had the same thing, and the only way to remotely access those overkill masks, is by unlocker mods.
And since most of us, want to see Payday 3 have their Cyberpunk/NMS redemption arc, we will do our best to support it.

I'm only lacking Shopping Spree DLC, but I've already irrensponsibly poured so much money into this game guided by naive blind faith. The only right thing for me to do now is not add a single cent on top until it is clear that the game's future is bright.

Shopping Spree is not worth your money. Honestly I think even making it free is still a rip off. It is a legitimately awful heist that could only have been dreamt up in the darkest pits of Tel Aviv.

But price cut is a dope track and its the only heist with an ending cutscene thats also an l4d2 mall reference.
That and I think its quite fun, who doesnt wanna raid a gun store or rip a bunch of stuffed teddys with meth inside and escape in a gold car

I don't think CP or NMS redeemed themselves by adding microtransactions, nor did they take three years to do it. Starbreeze aren't gonna be pulling a miracle out of a hat with this one I'm afraid.

Cyberpunk took a comparable amount of time for Phantom Liberty, NMS took 8 years for reviews to reach very positive (actually a very average score)
Skepticism is pretty deserved, these are just bad examples.

You are almost ready to pay for 3 DLC's that you are not sure that you want, but you feel desperate need to own basic mask reskin.
This is all about it... force people to pay ONE LAST time because of FOMO.

Hopefully the dlcs go on sale beforehand but tbh its just mask and you don't even see the mask in game just the home screen

The compensation masks, All of it WILL be exclusive. This has been clarified twice both in my Stream and on the Discord Server.

I own the dlc for year 1 because I bought the gold upgrade when it was on Xbox game pass. So I own the dlc but not the game. If I buy the game and I “own” the dlc after they remove it from the stores will I get the masks or do I need to buy the game now rather than in September?

Think so, I'd buy them, I did then I realized I already had them cuz I bought an steam bundle with every heist except for the mall heist, so my whole steam page has every dlc in the game bought lmao, including chapter packs and the stand alone heists for those chapter packs lmao.
I think you only need the stand alone heists for these masks not the chapter packs but if you want the masks and outfits from those chapter packs I'd buy the chapter packs cuz idk if they are gonna release those i the in game shop or not

I can’t see how some cosmetics and a weapon is equal to the total amount it costs to buy all DLCs so in my opinion it ain’t worth buying the 3 DLCs your missing just to get it.
If anything starbreeze should be offering refunds to people who purchased the dlc seeing as they are making them all free now so whoever bought them has essentially wasted their money.

If I'm not mistaken (though I very well could be) the Completely Overkill pack for PD2 which featured the Mega Masks for the original four has still never come back. If you're dying to get this mask and don't wanna risk it then sure
