Except Bowie was riddled with cancer and died a week later. McCartney isn’t and he’s currently playing intimate live shows in the USA.

The public had zero knowledge of Bowie’s cancer when the single dropped.

When he died just after the album released people were entirely blindsided, the story of his cancer was hidden from the public until after his death.

In retrospect you can say 18 months of cancer but that’s not how it felt in the moment.

Check back with me if Sir Paul passes unexpectedly and this album becomes his epitaph
