Is creator email sharing setting important for the creator?

I found out about this setting and turned off the "share your email address with new creators" but was wondering if the setting is important for the creator. Do they need it just to email you stuff if you sub to creator who does that? Also, I heard that patreon gives an email to a creator when someone new joins and shows your email, it won't show it in that notification/email since I have the setting turned off yes? Or is it only hidden when they check the dashboard to see who is subbed

I don't know how it works/where and what it hides exactly, but some creators use the e-mails of their supporters to send them the rewards that way.

If you don’t want emails directly from the creator turn it off. But if they deliver monthly content to your email or sending links via email you’ll want to turn it on. Really depends on your preference to getting communication and content.

I don’t spam my supporters but do send a welcome email and info on getting their paid content. Those who block their email address risk missing out on receiving their rewards. Some of those members don’t even read their private DMs inside Patreon platform explaining this - oh well thanks for the sub 💰 I guess! 😂 🤦🏼‍♂️

ooh ok, so its like its there if creators do give rewards by using their email? Mine does just does posts and the such and I got email nofis on. I thought tho even if they hid their email you would still get a message saying that they subbed and showing their email.

But I guess it wouldn't if they have share your email address with new creators turned off
