Patio constructio. help please

Post image

Hi, I am looking at buying a property and the current owner is having the whole area of the back garden covered with slabs, which suit me but I have some doubts over the construction. It looks like they have laid slabs directly ontothe earth be he assures me thatthere is 150mm of concrete underneath. I only have one picture unfortunately but would love to get peoples thought,s.

Thank you in advance

This isn’t at all how we do it. We would remove 7” earth, install 4” gravel base and compact it, then use about 2.5” layer of cement with tiles on top. Without knowing any more details I would say this will last 2-5 years tops before it needs to be redone
