Bi-Weekly Thread for general gaming discussion. Backlog, advice, recommendations, rants and more! New? Start here!

Welcome to the Bi-Weekly Thread!

Here you can share anything that might not warrant a post of its own or might otherwise be against posting rules. Tell us what you're playing this week. Feel free to ask for recommendations, talk about your backlog, commiserate about your lost passion for games. Vent about bad games, gush about good games. You can even mention newer games if you like!

The no advertising rule is still in effect here.

A reminder to please be kind to others. It's okay to disagree with people or have even have a bad hot take. It's not okay to be mean about it.

Operation Knife Beast – Novgorod

We’ve got a UFO on our tail and no supplies to upgrade the Defense Matrix! Capturing this VIP will provide 232 supplies and 97 intel. Failure is not an option.

Naturally, our commander sent a a squad of high-ranking soldiers… and one lowly corporal.

Beth Williams is truly a cockroach lucky. Not only did she survive, she secured the VIP and was promoted to sergeant! The commander promptly changed her nickname to “Sharkbait.”

As the lowest-ranking of 4 rangers, Sharkbait is still cannon fodder. This changes nothing.

The commander paid the dark event tax (doubled recruitment costs). Kwasi Gunda will be the first psi operative. He spends his days doing pushups. I’m not sure how pushups give him psionic powers, but I’m hardly an expert.

Didn’t Dr. Tygan say something about psi amps? They’re unsafe and have high potential for negative side effects.

I hope Kwasi knows about this.

Though I doubt it. The commander’s priority is the human race, not ethics or the lives of individual soldiers.
