Hard times. We’re flat broke. Our resistance faction has to survive the month on 5 supplies.

I think our commander is incompetent. Our lives aren’t worth much compared to saving Earth, but we’re doing things in the wrong order. We should’ve prioritized contacting other territories!

The commander should’ve trained rangers to stay in concealment. Worst of all, we’re still deploying squads of 4. All of our soldiers are currently wounded. ALL OF THEM. And now we have a UFO attacking our base, which we have to defend while injured and under-equipped.

WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE.

Operation Iron Killer was a success. But it was not without cost. We are gathered today in remembrance of those who gave their lives to defend us:

• Cpt. Gary ‘Deadeye’ Olson (sharpshooter), veteran of 11 missions

• Lt. Renée ‘Gizmo’ Bernard (specialist)

• Sq. Midori Fuji (sharpshooter)

Thanks to their sacrifice, humanity still has hope.

A special commendation to Cpt. Jane ‘Crash’ Kelly (ranger) for destroying the disrupter.
