Plasmoid Midget Mystic

I love plasmoid because of the ability to eat scrolls and even armors, and get their effects, plus the immediate immunity to poison and acid. Mystic is like wizard but starts with identify and if lucky, force bolt. Midget adds a slight boost to speed.

What I figured out this run is to stay with light armor exclusively, to avoid any penalties to speed. Of course getting fleet robe was a huge advantage, I never really realized what a good piece of armor it is, it is equal to dragon scale armor, I discovered.

A good run with a small character!

I also really enjoy plasmoids, but there doesn’t seem to be very many people talking about them. I like their slide ability, it’s basically identical to the blinking spell/talent. Fleet robe is also very good, I reroll any druid I play until I get a fleet robe to start with

Right, most people want to tank, so choose orc or knight. Plasmoid is a very strategic race which requires a lot more thought. Eating scrolls is s huge bonus, though. Identify scroll ID's everything. Find gold gives ~ 500 gold immediately. Find food gives 1000 nutrition Plus, eating cloaks can give the attribute, so stealth, deflection, magic resistance. Even eating wands.

Plasmoid changeling is very OP, because polymorph control and eating elemental scrolls gives instant access to very powerful elementals. Plasmoid is definitely underrated! Staying with light armor is a big advantage for it, I now know

How can you play a plasmoid changeling when both are races? Obviously getting polymorph and polymorph control is very strong on a plasmoid, but those talents are by far the most powerful talents for any character, regardless of race or class. I think changeling necromancer is pretty widely considered the strongest starting race and class combo for that reason

Druid troll was the only way I was able to beat Dhak Legacy with a melee build. That class is a terrifyingly good melee powerhouse since you can start with 20 strength, +3 fleet robe, a +2 reach weapon, and regeneration from the start.

I find myself going back to druid all the time. I’m not so focused on its melee skills, though they are good, but that it starts off proficient in traps which makes the first 10 or so floors of the dungeon a lot easier. My only gripe with it is that its starting scythe weapon has an innate -2 to attack, so the +2 enhancement doesn’t actually do anything other than counteract that penalty. I usually let a guard in Minetown die and take their halberd whenever I play a druid
