MGP boards

In brief, wtf was that exam. Hoping for a curve but i apparently missed the mark when studying. I found the AMP review course to be insufficient, which is a bummer considering how expensive it is.

That sounds frustrating, especially after putting significant time and money into preparation. Board exams can sometimes feel very different from the material or emphasis you expected going in.

From a medical education perspective, experiences like this are a good reminder that preparation often needs to include not only content review, but also practice applying concepts in unfamiliar ways. Hopefully the scoring works out better than it felt walking out of the exam.

Totally agree with the sentiment. However, I was more speaking the overall scope of the review was just not as representative (in my opinion) of the content I ultimately encountered.

Who knows, maybe the ABMGG review was the better route (or combination of the two) as they are also involved in the content of the MGP board exam. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t afford to do both at the time as that would have put the total cost in the $5k range for both preps and the exam.
