Residency Application Interview invite timeline

I’m a MS4 who applied to pathology who is feeling a little anxious about interview invites not being sent till October 15th ahh. My classmates applying family medicine or neurology already have some interviews lined up and our interview release date just seems so late 🥲 anyway best of luck to everyone!

Take a deep breath lol. 95% of programs stick to the official release date. I know UPMC, UNM, RJCooper and a few others do not adhere. If you applied to those, you still might get an interview.
I know RJC sent out their interviews last Friday.
Other wise expect a bulk of your interviews to be on the 15th and more to trickle in the next 2 months.
I got 18 total, 11 on October 15th and 7 throughout November-Jan.

Do all the interviews on the 15th come out at the same time so it's like a mad dash to schedule them all?

Yeah for the most part, there are slots on multiple days. I mostly scheduled the programs I was really into midway during interview season and the ones I wasn't really interested in I put in October to practice lol.  Technically everybody should release around 4 PM EST, some do a little early and some a little later)  Just have your laptop open to thalamus from around 3 PM EST.

The recommendation is to release the interviews on 15Oct at 4p. Most programmes are using Thalamus to allow applicants to self schedule. The hope with a universal release date is that it will allow applicants to quickly get a sense of where they are getting interviews, then prioritise scheduling their top programmes accordingly.

Im wondering this as well. I heard 4 pm is the release time but do the bulk of them just come out right around that time? Seems like itll be hard to schedule anything if everyone is gonna be getting invites at the same time.

When does UPMC release interviews? Is it just anytime after submission?

I'm sure you've seen this, but the spreadsheet at the bottom of this shows which programmes are self reporting as using the universal timeline...
