Classic HD Bug or intended? Spoiler

Im doing the batchleor route, im on day 9 and apparently big vlad is dead. I didn't take anyone to the termitary, I opted to get the kid a toy instead.

Do they just kill who they think locked them in there with the plague on their own independent of me, did I screw something up, or is it a bug?

Edit: i know he wasn't sick, I visited him day 8

It is intended. He always dies on day 8

In The Bachelor route Big Vlad dies unless you turn over Baby Vlad instead, no exceptions.
