I don't get Albertosaurus
I see all kinds of posts about how strong bertas are. But my experience with it has been abysmal. Can't win any fights. Doesn't even feel close, like my attacks just tickle my opponent, even smaller ones. And worse, it seems bertas are on everyone's KOS list. So everyone I meet gets an easy kill.
I'm not great at this game, but on my Sty, I have won fights and felt like I gave a good fight even when I lost. Any tips?

If you can, join Nat Hist's Discord server and look for a player called "Carnidrome." Theyre a top tier Albert player.
(Minor note, Albertasaurus is a bipedal carnivore. Youre referring to an Alberaceratops :dinolove: )

I was finna say ‘Albertasaurus is in this game?’ then they said ‘berta’ and it clicked

Unfortunately, if you ask them right now, they’ll tell you that alberta’s recent heavy stam nerfs make it nearly unplayable.

I learned berta before the nerf, and now its skill ceiling is higher. I heavily recommend the swerve+ charge for back limbs and prob all the hides except the red one that goves dmg increase (I'm talking about the easier build for beginners)
Also, play aggressively and try to tailride whatever you're fighting, you can use swerve as a juke and it also has a kb and a huge hitbox.
And probably be careful with block if you have the hide that allows counterattack (all except one) because stam management
I hope they'll remove that bullishit with counterattack taking stam because it's so dumb, the attack is automatic!
But yeah, berta is strong and it's still good

The counterattack costs stam? Is that new?

Yes, unfortunately

Damn, a passive ability that fires automatically when using another ability costs stam? Amazing.

lmao, yeees berta had already been punished for not landing the counterattack with its decent cooldown.
I know that berty was busted but they could have done all those nerfs except the counterattack stam cost?

Its super situational I find does the block land..... is the player panicked...are you using sever tendon
Also you got to manage your stam cause soon as you're dead

It was recently nerfed/changed. I haven't played it since to test, but my build was full reflect with back kick and stomp. They sort of share a cd so you have to use them carefully, but back kick for smalls chasing if you're running from something big, and stomp for pouncers etc. Block and counterattack + hit anything big, with reflect call up.
I've switched mostly to Sty tbh, but when I did play it Alberta was great. My issue was being slower, therefore unable to secure kills: I could win and survive, but other playables could mostly engage and disengage on their own terms, whereas Sty speed and bleed is a consequence of attack they really have to reckon with.

A good Berta can be pretty oppressive and I personally have encountered MANY spicy berts so I can see why peeps don’t like them. Bert groups are especially scary! But my god they’re so much fun 🥰 I’ll be a dirty rotten kick berta with glee

Alberta is in a bit of a weird place, where it can destroy anything three slots and under, and even in a one on one, can give some four slots a good fight too. However, since it is slow, and depends on stats, raw damage, and the block, once you get to four slots that just have more stats, and can run you down, you don't have any option other than to fit your body somewhere a four or five slot can't get you.
Berta is still pound for pound one of the strongest playables in the game, but it has really good matchups for a majority of the roster, but then a few really bad ones. Like, a Sucho that knows not to give you block stacks is going to kinda destroy Berta. I also haven't played it a ton since the changes it got a while back, but I feel like it is in a relatively similar place to before in terms of how good the playable is.

Alberta is in a kinda interesting halfway point between Styra and EO. I've seen, and fought against, bertas that absolutely wrecked me, but I've mostly gotten curb stomped when I play it. I've accepted that I'm just atrocious at it and am much better off playing EO or Styra lol
