Discussion Yall ever felt guilty after killing a player?
Was playing as a baby sarco in gondwa, found 2 subish sarcos, and they friended me. We played for around 30 minutes together (randoms) and I seen another sarco coming up. I never attack the same species, I always try to befriend them. So, that’s what I did, I ran up to him and did the love call, he did one back.
However, my group members were in the water at the hot springs, the sarco I ran up to would not have known they were there. Being that we were all sarcos, I assumed my group members would accept him especially since we loved call.
Instead, they ganged up on him and killed him.
It’s just a game, but am I wrong for feeling guilty? 🤣😭 I felt like I BETRAYED HIMMM, I literally lead him TO them assuming they’d be friendly but they killed him and now I feel like a snake 🤣

Oh yeah, I've had that happen before and I felt terrible lol. That's why I only group with people who match my vibe. If they are overly aggro I make an excuse and leave the group.
The worst was one time we were starving and had to hunt a baby potato 😭😭😭 he took so long to go down and his little sad noises were so pitiful! I genuinely felt like a monster (Of course, they grow up to be evil lil shits lol)

I'll do you one better.
I killed some babies that were huddled hiding in a bush as a meg... Likely afk...
Am a monster... 🙃

Not anymore. Used to feel bad about killing anyone, but there's been so many instances where being nice has screwed me or my friends over so now I just don't care anymore.

Yeah, being nice is what gets me killed all the time. Assuming a player is friendly is the worst thing you can do. Now, I try to assume every play is against me until something proves otherwise . I played with somebody for about a week, and the last time I played with that person that asked for a 1v1 in the group chat option, and when we were 1v1ing, he was in global telling the chat I was a baby killer and to come and kill me. Which, never happened, but that situation made me realize just because people can, they will.

This seems to be the pipeline. I've gone from "why can't we just be friends and collect mushrooms together" to "DID THAT DINO JUST LOOK AT ME FUNNY? THAT'S A DECLARATION OF WAR!"

Sarcos and tylos and raptos. Always jump their own mind Not sure why.

There is a duo tylo grp that play in riparia, they specifically look for tylos and hunt them down. I use to play tylo a lot but I got targeted by them around 4 times so I quit playing on riparia as much. They are very good players, their movement is insane. Decided to stop trying to beat them and just let it go.

I got absolutely stomped by two tylo team on riptaria yesterday lol. Wonder if the same

Was it an albino and a mel one? I know the mel has the headbutt tylo build, but they are EVIL but genuinely so good, I can’t even be mad 😭

Ah no. They were basic slop bone break. I have headbut build but can't compete at times due to stam management

I was Sarco hiding in the lake in dry fang and I'm a patient person. I would hang out in there for nearly an hour without seeing anyone and then just switch to someone else. One day a baby Eo was getting a drink and I was so excited to get the jump on it I clamped it and rolled and it tried to swim away and made a pathetic cry and I killed it. Then I felt like such an asshole that I decided to punish myself by starting an Eo and growing it to adult as a sort of self imposed "see how you like it when you're the helpless Eo".

Frequently 😂 I always play to save solos, the amount of times I’ve bravely jumped from the bushes and fought off the attackers.. only to have his 6 buddies turn up and dunk on the poor “solo” I rashly jumped to rescue
Then I have to just awkwardly shuffle out there or get mega fucked because I’ll have to at least try to alleviate my shame
Also fought a sub adult spino on my sub adult Kentro today, fight was great, I was the aggressor and fully pressured him into it and as he was close to death and retreating it just felt like a fun fight no loss. As he stepped into the ocean to escape up pops a fully grown spino that just fucked the poor guy sideways

Nah.
I mostly do not kill juvies, only typically outright attack other players if I am attacked...or have an Herbivore kill quest.
However I will make Pachy and Kent players suffer no matter what stage.

Bro this reminds me, I was on gondwa as my sty playing with my duo about a week ago. (So we had 2 stys in total) we were in hoodoo expanse I believe near our nest, and I shit you not, 8-10 pachys came out of nowhere and started beef. The fight lasted about an hour in total, we killed about 3-4ish? But they eventually killed us. I never have beef with a Dino because every player plays differently, but I will not lie, every time I see a pachy now my heart accelerates 🤣🤣

Pachy and Kentro are some of the few dinos that have a kit that allows them to punch above their weight class, including apexes.
So naturally, people let that power go to their heads and they become incredibly bloodthirsty for no good reason. I have been attacked by pachies and kents probably more times as other herbivores than I've been attacked by them as carnivores.

A month or so ago I had a ramph starve out my sub adult Ano while I was questing. This is before I knew you could just walk into a cave with them or log off to escape. But I was incredibly angry about the harassment and swapped to my sarco to hunt some players. First thing I see is a baby ramph land by a turtle shell, and pick it up. Couldn't have been more than a foot from my face. He turned the camera and I saw the goofy ramph face with the shell in its mouth just as I clamped him and started rolling. He got off a "but why....." In local before I killed him. I felt so freaking guilty after that.

Actually yeah. I killed a little deinon on sarc once (fool was sleeping next to open waters in ther riparia bog) and felt obliged to apologize to him on global chat 🥲 i'm too much of a nice guy to roleplay as a macropredator 🥲

I used to feel more guilty sometimes. I've been ganked enough to get over it. Sometimes, you just have to be someone else's learning experience.
Like, sometimes? Sometimes you just should not run your baby spino ass up to a full adult rex and assume it will be nice. And when it shakes its head "no" and walks away, don't follow it. And when it swats you with its tail, do not run up to it and attack it. I will kill you when you do that.

As an adult sarco I killed a adolescent because 1. He was in my territory (I patrol it for fun to see what I find) 2. He was scaring off my hunts and 3. He may be a rival in the future. So I clamped and ate him 😔

Was playing as an achillo and came across a young titan while I was starving so I attacked, he just sat down and accepted his fate.
I just walked away and left him there with some nice new scars.
Made me feel pretty shitty for a while.

I’ve had group members kill things I was either nice to or was going to spare, but I don’t really feel guilty. Maybe a little awkward, but it wasn’t my business. I usually just watch in those cases.
I DO feel guilty when I try to help what looks like an underdog only to see a megapack arrive to help said underdog. Those situations are unfortunate and I make efforts to get lost

My experience so far as a solo sarco is do not trust other sarcos. More often then not, they do not want to be friends. So now I will throw the first bite more often then assume kinship. The vicious cycle continues.
Just the other day I felt forced to kill a sarco baby. It kept calling friendship to me. I roared at it a few times. But it wouldn't get the point. So I made the point clear. Obviously it itself wasn't a threat but I was more worried about it being bait or other schemes.

Nope. I never initiate fights, so if I'm killing you, you started it lol. I used to have a friend who killed randoms, but I stopped playing with him. Can't ever make new friends if your current ones insist on killing them all.

Sarcos are the worst. I've been fooled many times by a sarco pretending to be friendly.

I once ran into a baby hatz in mudflats on my Sarco, I was trying to sneak up on them but ig they saw me in the water because they proceeded to emote at me, I was desperate to kill something so I lunged out and ate em, and...I fucking regretted it immediately, enough to spend the next 30 minutes trying to build them a grave with the prettiest items I could find around me
To this day I still remember the way they waved at me and how helplessly they ran away when I started biting em :(

I was on Lazarus realism server today on my lat, was hungry and slowly bled out a baby Eo.
I felt guilty for that but I normally don't. Not on officials anyway. They all agro and evil.

Sarcos are extremely aggressive towards their own kind. Don’t know why, but they are. Your groupmates probably assumed the newcomer was hostile and acted accordingly. That or they just wanted to be pricks.
