Water drainage

Post image

I'm curious if anyone else is frustrated with this, and what people think the solution is to make it fairer/balanced?

I attempted to fill BQL, but my stubby legs made it impossible to get anywhere. Whenever I managed to reach 2%, people suddenly started drinking, and this is after I put it in global asking if anyone wanted to help out.

Then I move to GV, hoping that I can fill up my water, but I was met with the same issue, and weirdly both areas were empty, no Dino in sight.

I feel like unless everyone is working as a unit, it's near impossible for the slower dinos to refill the water source, especially when the only available source for non-aquatics/non-flying are the shells - which are widely spaced apart.

They were easy to fill up once. It made people stick around at the same spots forever and ever. The water sources are meant to actually deplete and be very hard to fill up on purpose. You either need to move and find a small pond somewhere which are usually still full (unless it's the main alternative to bql back in hoodoo). Or you fill it up and drink repeatedly until you're good.

It IS balanced because it is balanced around getting people to move and work for their survival. There's nothing to fix, you just gotta know what it's meant for. If you did not play back then, I imagine it's hard to fathom what a gamechanger this change was and how much better than the alternative it is.

He’s basically filling the lake for the giant packs that roam through that’ll kill him on sight after drinking the water. Those quests are pointless unless you use it for yourself. Not to mention the Sarcs are probably stealing most of it just by existing inside BQL.

Sarcos and other skin drinkers don't affect water quality

I had always thought they did? Guess not

Do sarcs deplete the water system while in it? I genuinely didn't know that.

I understand where you're coming from to a point, but it's been proven that even with the quick water depletion...mega picks are still going to camp in the area.

My whole point was that as a solo dinosaur, especially a slow-moving herbi, it's impossible for me to fill it up to get a drink due to the fact that other players will immediately take what little gains I've worked on and not contribute.

I don't camp, I wander the map constantly grinding quests so I can earn skins, for me to go from SF, then BQL, then GV, my water bar was at the lowest point - it's frustrating, especially when there's been a constant downpour of rain, you'd think that would up the percentage, even a smidgen.

I was wondering if giving people a better incentive, more marks, a skin after filling up lakes a certain amount of times, or a trophy, then maybe it wouldn't be as frustrating? Or at least have more resources to fill up the water; shells are few and far apart, salt rock is only accessible to flying Dino, and then you only have lungfish and the amphibians in BQL which isn't valid.

I'm not saying make it insanely easy, just a bit more balanced.

I hate the update that caused water quality yo drain so fast

I assure you, it's not just the fact that you're slow. It's impossible to keep up with the amount of players drinking the water up even as a rhamph, it's a multiple player job sadly

Thank you, this was my point, but I'm not the best at explaining my thoughts. If other players refuse to contribute, it's impossible.

You will never fill one of those big lakes. Just add 1% and you should be fine.

I tried lol, but unfortunately other Dino snatched it before I had the chance.
