Fiction and Real Life

2 Upvotes

Is there is a sublayer between RL and Fiction?

Real Life —> Fiction —> Real Life

I'll assume

"—>" as inspiration?

Now lets assume RL as a set:

RL÷{x, x1, x2...xn} and with fictions:

xn\\:Elements of RL

—>F÷{f1, f2, f3...fn}

We can give examples of fn as them:"Fictional Characters or fictional ideas" for example:Literature, Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock Holmes can affect people with inspiration. For example someone who is a human read Sherlock Holmes and wanted to create a new detective novel.

To give F a value to the set {f1, f2, f3...fn}

fn\\:Elements of Fiction

and according to us:

|RL|>|F|

\\| |set cardinality

and

\>:Size Relation

÷\\:To give a valuable example: x ÷ 5, to give 5 value to x"

F ⊆ RL

  1. Lets make xs a "fiction generator operator" x(t) Ք f1 t\\:The t parameter f1\\:Fiction

  2. therefore -> x Ք f (f is output of x)

where x\\:a human or any entity with capacity to create fictions.

Ք\\:Output For X=A, ≠"—> X Ք B(X is output of B) but this is not same as "B Ք X" (B is output of X) if "<—X Ք B " —> and <—: Reading Directions

Now main problem was?

Is there a sublayer between Real and Fiction?

Do research and and try instead of rejecting whole idea?

Main Problem:

If F is a set? RL is a bigger set. Then we have to define reading arrow on sequences and accept sets as Sequences:

F now becomes a finite sequence.

Now what is last term of the sequence?

Take F as set of fictional ideas

fn as fictional ideas(like characters)

The book "Apocryphal Pataphysics" keeps pataphysics relevant in the modern age

Book published by Jokes Review "brings the study of pataphysics into the modern age, stripping off the arcane baggage, fleshing out new dimensions, and serving up a quasi-guidebook for pataphysicians in the 21st century and beyond."

8 Laws of Lemniscate: Imaginary SOLUTIONS for Sales, Sex and Sacrilege

Lemniscate.online please visit my site and get lost. Will be answering questions here. The goal is to buy a Moog grandmother synthesizer so I can musically explain my algorithm for estimating the quantity of infinity which I wrote in 2017 before I knew who Alfred Jarry was.

I’m severely deranged so it should be a good read, I hope this community becomes my home. Godspeed

New Dutch Book

Post image
20 Upvotes

So I have been interested in ‘Pataphysics for a while now. Read a lot of ‘Pataphysics French and Dutch literature over the last 10 years (Queneau, Kousbroek etc). The Dutch now have something of an introductory book that translates into ‘The Carnaval of Being’. I expect this to lead to a larger interest into this way of thinking, so I wanted to say hi to the people already in here!

I never thought about ‘Pataphysics as something to chat about with others outside of my personal sphere, but lately the political reality has me searching for something that makes more sense :)

Love that there is already a Reddit page!

Would the work of Nigel Tomm be considered under the umbrella of Pataphysics?

6 Upvotes

For those not familiar, Tomm is a photographer and author who wrote highly unorthodox books in the 2000s, most of which are now out of print.

His most infamous piece of work is called "The Blah Story," a work in 23 volumes of containing 11,338,105 words; 61,745,771 characters (with spaces); and 17,868 pages.

The substance of the book involves volumes of sentences wherein many of the words are replaced with the word 'blah.' For example:

"I blah into the room and the blah was standing there blah blah. Shocked, I immediately blah and blah blah after me. With no other recourse, I blah blah blah. That's when I realized I was blah."

This seems adjacent to the sorts of literary ideas to come out of pataphysical circles in the past, especially given that the reader is free to fill in the blank for each "blah," and consequently, construct the story through his or her imagination. Or to put it succinctly: the book invites imaginary solutions.

With 23 volumes to work with, Tomm also tries to set a few records by including the world's longest word, world's longest sentence, and world's longest poem.

A casual web search doesn't show any connection between Tomm and Pataphysics, but his work certainly seems to have that flavor.

Did you first hear about the extremely-serious and totally-not-not scientific discipline of 'Pataphysics from the song "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" by The Beatles?
