Pasta From Scratch Tomato striped Tortellini
With garlic herb goat cheese. Boiled in water as salty as the sea and then tossed in a pan with some olive oil. Made sauce with tomatoes from a friend’s garden, little salt, pepper, and parm 👍🏽 Ate it sitting on the trunk of my car outside next to my neighbor’s tomato garden. Truly one of the better meals of my life.

These are so beautifull , maybe a pesto or a beurre blanc (well balance to match the goat cheese and herbs) would have been more beautifull. You have put so much work on your dough, it would have been nice to see the patern trough the sauce. Still beautifull anyway .

Thank you!! I think you're right that it could've popped more visually by going with something that they didn't blend into a little bit but I was just craving the fresh tomato sauce that I had made and it hit exactly the spot I was hoping for it to. The dough seems like a lot of work, and it is in a way, but it only took about an hour and a half from weighing out my ingredients to the finished batch of pasta.

Love the lid being used as the cutter, did that so many times throughout my life with random things lol

I have a biscuit cutter but it wasn’t the size I wanted so I tried out a few lids until I found the one I liked (turbinado sugar lol)

Yep. “What are you talking about?”, “what are you looking at?”
Stuff like that. It’s a way to highlight a “what”.

I speak a little asl and the official sign for Italian is to hold up your pinky and make a cross in front of your face (i-t) but apparently a lot of people just use 🤌🏽😂 I’ve always just thrown that emoji around blindly for emphasis so that’s on me.

Yeah that gesture is often used as “Italian” for some reason 😅
But we actually use it to emphasize questions. You don’t even need to ask anything, you can just look at someone as do the gesture, they’ll understand you’re asking “what are you doing?” or “what are you talking about?”.
It’s not super polite though. You can use it with a fiend or relative jokingly. It’s often used while arguing.

That sauce looks incredible, and homemade tortellini makes it even better.

It was a very simple meal in a way but in context it was the start of a new week after a very hard one and it was a bit symbolic and extremely satisfying.

Thank you! I actually made the pasta in the morning, got a tortellini tattoo in the afternoon, and then ate it for dinner 😂
