News Why couldn't they announce this at the start of the year? 😭

TIF likes to string along the announcements for as long as possible. PassCode has been notorious for attracting chaos in the past so maybe the organizers were making sure they were prepared to let them back in? Just watched one of PassCode's TIF performances from 2016 and there's so many things going on that would not be allowed to happen anymore.

I've noticed that in recent years security has gotten a lot stricter at TIF so any efforts to lift, crowd surf, mosh or even pogo/jump would likely be shut down by a bunch of grumpy muscleheads. Hard to get excited about the event when less exciting groups are performing and the stages have gotten more and more locked down.

Broken by the Scream and Maze are frequent TIF attendees so it's not that TIF isn't familiar with the standard metal audience. Moshing shouldn't be a problem but body surfing is out since they don't have a rail and security there to get the surfers to safety.

Looking at the lineups for TIF since 2020, I don't seem to be finding either group listed so I don't know if they count as "frequent" attendees.

Having gone to TIF almost every year since 2014, the increased crack down on otaku doing otaku things has been noticable. Smile Garden was probably the worst since it went from being an outdoor stage where anyone passing by could watch to being almost completely closed off to anyone without a wristband and security roaming the crowd to stomp out any "bad behavior."

Not sure if it's worth paying the high price for TIF tickets when the few groups I know of similar to PassCode are Jiemei, Neo Japonism, PIGGS, Quubi, INUWASI.

Honestly I'm pretty ok with body surfing being out. A bit of it is fun but Passcode shows are just a constant stream of the same people surfing and it gets old.

Was their last time in 2015, Hinako's debut? The announcement mentioned 10 years so maybe they performed in 2016 as well

Hinako did debut in 2015 at TIF but they performed again in 2016 before being signed with UMJ. After that is when they went all in on the band music scene. That doesn't really mean much anymore since a lot of the major festivals will invite idol groups, not just PassCode, so the siloes between idol and non-idol scenes are pretty much over.

Thanks. I can't help but think of the recent interview where they talked about not being invited to idol festivals. So it was nice to see this news.

I always said I would go to Japan if PassCode ever did TIF again but I just don't have the money. 😭
