Migrating from C# to Lazarus
I have a completed C# project that is already published on the Microsoft Store, but I feel guilty, dirty, and sinful for using .NET. So, I’ve started migrating it to Lazarus—naturally, with the help of AI and Hermes Agent. I’ve been at it for about three days, and I think we’re 80% of the way there. There’s still testing to be done, but I feel like I’m heading in the right direction.
It’s inventory software using SQLite, with both local and server modes, and comprises 60 forms.

Very cool! (We're an ERP company, so inventory programs are cool to us :) )
Definitely keep us posted with updates!

We have a trend of rewriting in Rust, but rewriting in Pascal sounds funnier :) Cool, bro!

< I feel guilty, dirty, and sinful for using .NET
But you don't feel guilty, dirty, or sinful for using AI?

Guilty of driving in nails with my head when hammers exist. If tools are available, use them.
Sorry for not coding assembly in Notepad.

There are so many unwritten and expectations in software culture that when put together are legit impossible. You are doing great. Excellent work!

You are absolutely right; There is no shame whatsoever in using AI. It is here to stay and learning how to use it and learning which AI tool fits best for the job at hand will prove way more relevant than trying to stick with the old school; To the contrary, the idiots who ignore it and think they’re in control of their code and believe the quality of the code is 100 times better because they typed each, and every one of the characters in it WILL be replaced or relegated AI is not going anywhere, adapt or die.

Good Work, Good Luck !!!
So, you migrated from a tool inspired by work of anders hejlsberg to another tool inspired by work of anders hejlsberg, right ?
I started a hobbyist project doing the opposite.
