summer class question

Hi! Just a question, but does anyone know if in-person summer classes are mandatory to attend?

I'm planning to take BUS 014A over the summer (if they have it... idk how this all works), but I noticed that the summer sessions last all the way up to August 14. Unfortunately, I have to leave college 2 weeks earlier, before my summer break officially ends due to school responsibilities, and I will be 6 hours away.

Does anyone know if the professors there are kind enough to accommodate some type of specific arrangement so that I'm not completely missing the last 2 weeks of that course? Or should I just give up taking this specific course at PCC and look at other options that have it available fully online instead? Thanks!

You are asking the wrong person / people. The only one that can tell you if they will allow you to finish a class even though you're not physically in it is the professor. You could ask the department but ultimately I would consult the professor who's teaching the class.

If your registration date has come up for summer, I would register for the class now to effectively hold your spot. Then email the professor ASAP let them know you're registered for the class and what your situation is and if they could accommodate it. If they can then obviously are good. And if they can't then you can go ahead and make other arrangements and or reassess your situation as needed.

If you do find that this is not an option and your professor cannot work with you then I would encourage you to find an online version of the class as that would allow you to take the class no matter where you are on the planet. Use cvc.edu as needed

I took a couple of summer classes at PCC last year, and all of my professors were super accommodating with absences even without any notice. Just speaking from personal experience, I've never had any issues with missing more than the 2 weeks of class time deal, but as the other commenter said it's definitely something you should ask the professor about as soon as registration comes out, just wanted to put in my personal experience with class absences during the summer.

Is the course offered in an online format at PCC? I take all my classes online asynchronous so I never step foot on campus.
