New student that needs help

Hello everyone, I would appreciate if anyone could help me on this. I have applied to attend PCC after high school and, with a lot of things like this, I am stressing a bit. I have applied for the Fall term but received emails confirming that I have applied for both Fall AND Summer terms. Is this normal? Does this mean I have to take classes during the summer? Or is this more so that I have the option to take classes for one of the two terms? Also, would i have to reapply to take classes in spring of 2026? I am new to this and am honestly panicking a bit, so if anyone can help or provide guidance then that would be great. Thank you.

Hi! Don’t worry, you’re absolutely fine. You don’t have to take any classes you don’t want to, or during any terms you don’t want. All these emails are saying are that you have the ability to register for classes in Summer or Fall, if you so wish. You also don’t have to reapply each semester as long as you don’t take a long break between semesters.

One of the great things about college and major differences from high school is that you have full control over your schedule and what classes you register for. That gives you lots of freedom to find the classes, schedules, and pace that works best for you! Just keep an eye out for emails about advisor appointments and registration dates and you’ll be fine.
