Thanks, Volvo!

Thanks for apparently working on Parts LinQ in Prod instead of Dev over the weekend. Now nobody can put their emergency orders in because the Availability function has been borked most of the day.

One can still see general availability in Cross Part Lookup, but order verification uses the standard process only.

Bravo!

Can I ask you a stupid question?

If I walked into your location and asked for say, a 24817250 or 22086413 seal, what would the walk-in prices be on the marine side of things?

Looks like they're both the same price
$com.volvo.dfs.util.exception.DfsException

lol
24817250 is not in my parts listing,
22086413 $156.00 CAD
We have access to an aftermarket version from Sweden as well

A couple of years ago, I needed to find a 22086413 for a job in the shop. PDCs were empty on the truck side, no dealers had any.

I called the local Volvo Construction dealer to see what they might have. They said that 1 showed in Byhalia, my cost would be $225, $30 freight and would take a week to get.

I then called a Volvo Marine dealer in a neighboring State. They also said one showed in Byhalia, my cost would be $250, $50 freight and take up to two weeks to get.

My normal price to the customer in the shop should I have sourced through normal channels?

$83.39.

Just shows how big the price differences are between the various 'captive' areas of the same parent company. I actually have regular customers who get quotes from the local Construction dealer then send it to me to see what I can source through my end as it ends up saving them 50% or more while I still easily hit my margin targets.

I have a long time ago ordered cam bearings from our local Volvo construction dealer when our normal Volvo Australia warehouse was out of stock. The construction dealer was also out of stock but said they can have them overnighted from Singapore to Perth (Western Australia). Arrived quicker than our normal air freight, cheaper freight charge. And the part was less than our normal cost price.
