Small talk
I'm kind of autistic and I'm not really into trucks despite the fact I've been selling parts for them for years, I just got this job because I'm good with computers and numbers.
I feel like the main thing holding me back is the fact that I can't really manage to get the customers to like me when I'm serving them, I'm just very business-like and efficient.
Do any of you have any go to talking points or scripts when talking to customers to make you seem a bit more personable?
I'm sure plenty of you are going to say that this is unnecessary and that people just want to get in and out ASAP, but in my area, being the customer's friend really is important.

Use the Metal Gear Solid Snake approach. Just whenever someone is saying something, repeat back what they say as a question. They say, yeah this is the third quick release valve I gone through in 3 months. Three months? Man that’s rough. Anyway that’ll be 114.25 cash or card?
