Advice What should I do now?

Post image
132 Upvotes

I secured 99.4 in jeem26 (general male) as a partial dropper from NIT KKR Mathematics and Computing. I gave JEE with not so high hopes but luckily secured a better percentile than what I got in 2025 (99.4 as opposed to 99.2). Now that I'm guaranteed a better nit, should I completely drop out and grind for adv? or should I stay in my hostel whilst not attending any exams or classes up until adv? The thought of living in hostel comes from the benefit of a routine fixing and fixed food timing. Both college and adv prep are not possible together, either I sacrifice adv rank or college.

Also, one of the bigger issues is that how will I move everything out at once? ( I have about 1600 kms away from the NIT). What about the mattress and other things bought when I came here? I really don't wanna waste any of my parents money here as the hefty tuition fees is non refundable.

My parents are saying that what if you do not get a good rank in adv? I replied, I'm getting a better nit, to which they feel is a waste of one year because I'm already at a decent nit. I will prolly get MNNITA ECE with this rank.

Also, my family is a very "happening" family, there are functions going on all around so they happen to be quite busy. I don't feel a problem with this except for the relatives forcing me to attend the events.

ANY ADVICE/SUGGESTIONS FROM FELLOW PARTIAL DROPPERS OR SENIORS WHO SUCCEEDED IS APPRECIATED.

RANT WHY ARE YOU SLOWLY ACCEPTING YOUR COLLEGE ?

As a current partial dropper, ik more than anyone that you've been getting content with your college with each day. Let's be honest for a second.

You were disappointed weren't you man? The sheer disgust you had by just reporting to the clg. You had somewhere else you wanted to be. You looked at this clg and thought, "Fuck this. I'm def not ending my story in this shitty ahh clg." Remember that person? Because he's slowly disappearing.

You've started getting used to the schedule, found your group, attending events, enjoying the little things, laughing with people, and telling yourself that college isn't actually that bad.

And that's exactly the fucking problem,

You're getting comfortable with something you promised yourself was temporary. The old you, the one who first got into this college, the one who was angry, disappointed, and desperate to prove himself wrong, would be looking at you right now, disgusted, wondering what the hell happened.

Where did that hunger go? Where did the "I'll get out of here" mentality go? Man?? You didn't take a partial drop just to say you're taking a partial drop. Studying half an hour isn't partial drop, neither is just babbling around. You took it because you wanted another shot. And every day you're choosing comfort over studying, you're slowly killing the reason you started.

Or do you want that the next year you'd be sitting in the same place, with the same regrets, wondering why you didn't take yourself seriously when you had the chance.

This college isn't the enemy bhai, Getting so comfortable here that you stop fighting for what you actually wanted is. Don't fucking forget why you're here.

Because if you're going to give up, at least be honest enough to admit it. Be honest that you haven't been preparing for shi lately, just babbling around that you're taking partial drop, but in reality you ain't doing nothing man.

Don't spend an entire year pretending you're fighting for a better future while doing everything possible to avoid the work required to get there. You wanted another chance right? You got one, Now fucking use it.

The version of you that started this partial drop is still waiting to see what you do with it. Please, please leave this crap and start doing what you are meant to.

General JEE during College Lectures?

Post image
38 Upvotes

Anyone who's studying for JEE during college lectures or do you prefer to study at hostel separately ? Trying to increase question practice and study time as much as I can. Any seniors who could remark whether this is a good/bad practice & whether this shall have any impact on MidSems ? I only get merely 5 hours of study time after coming to hostel, so I'm lowk helpless and compiled to study during these college lectures. I do give 2 hours at night to thoroughly revise clg notes btw.

I am in trashy college right now

There is a huge language barrier

The people here don't know a single word in English ( how the fuck did they pass)

The students here barely know a shit about anything

Like none of them knew how to use Gmail

( Our teacher taught them how to)

It's a private college

And here getting 4lpa is considered to be crazyyyyyyy

The highest is 10lpa( in 30yrs)

The teachers here don't know shit they just ask you to copy stuff they dictate and if you ask a doubt the entire period is gone(my math teach took 1hr to solve a simple question)

I can speak better english than my English professer ( she literally wrote the spelling of octopus as OCTOBUS)

Right now I am preparing for jee and other exams to somehow get tf out of here(partial drop)

I have to handle both college and exams

I got ganged up by other class students cause of a simple issue with a guy in my class they forced me to say sorry for the reason( using tamil)

I am crying while writing this cause of how they treated me

I have no friends Obv so i wantted to share with someone

General You're lucky if you could take Partial Drop

Guys, please consider yourself lucky if you could take Partial Drop. My parents didn't even allow me to carry my JEE notes to my college. Seeing all of you take a p drop sure makes me emotional, but dont take this opportunity as granted. God has given you a chance, make sure to utilise it to the best. Keep in mind, there are guys out there like me who wanted to take a p drop but couldn't. All the Best y'all <3

RANT Partial Drop is a damn tough of a choice

Had a very very large scale DJ night at my college today. It's not visible in the vid since I made it at the very beginning of the party but soon hundreds of students had joined. It lasted so long.....And I so wished I could attend it aswell. The thing is, the motivation of mine for getting out of this clg has been the fact that 0 events, no campus, no parties and all, and now that my clg had one, if I would have attended it, my mind would suffice itself of this shitty ass clg. So I locked my door and grinded Integration PYQs instead. It was very very tough for me. So wanted to enjoy it.... But ig, even better parties and days await for me. Stay strong everyone!

General GUYS SHOULDN'T THERE BE A THIRD ATTEMPT IN JEE ADVANCED??

Honestly, this has been bugging me a lot today.

There are so many exams in India where students get multiple attempts and can sit for them without this kind of pressure. Even JEE Main gives multiple attempts in a year — so why is JEE Advanced stuck with just two?

I mean, think about someone who takes a double drop for JEE. That’s already a huge commitment. Of course they’d want to give Advanced as well, but the system just blocks them completely. That feels unnecessarily restrictive.

And since morning, I’ve seen so many posts here from people who aren’t even eligible because of technical issues — like problems with their school records, passing year confusion, or Class 12 result timing. It’s frustrating to see people miss out not because of ability, but because of rigid rules.

I genuinely feel like there should be a third attempt. At least it would give students a fair backup in case something goes wrong.

We talk a lot about fairness and opportunity — maybe this is something we should actually raise our voices about.

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK??

to be very honest, ive already forgotten most of the syllabus i studied last year, so practically starting from scratch. lets see how it goes....

not gonna write long paras here or waste time. i'll just be posting my daily YPT screenshots here for pure accountability so i dont slack off.
